The Broken Pieces by David Dalglish

Trust, lies, truth, and sanity no longer matter when you deal with a fanatic. Dont pretend to understand Valessa. Dont think you know why she does what she does. Shes not just unfinished; shes a broken thing, and its the broken pieces that are most likely to cut when you touch them.

The war in the north is coming to an end, but more and more it seems neither brother, Arthur or Sebastian, will end as the true victor. The priest Luther rallies an army of Karak, his aims unclear. Further north, Cyric continues to proclaim himself a god, and his followers are many. Caught between two enemies, Darius and Jerico must stand together to prevent the destruction of everything they hold dear.

And the key to their victory might be someone sworn to kill them both.

THE BROKEN PIECES by David Dalglish
Even the strongest can break before a furious god.

All I can say is when I got to the end, it was "No way! It just can't be!". Oh, Darius! Oh, Valessa! Oh, Jerico! The story just has to continue. Luckily, according to the author's notes, Jerico appears in other story lines, that of the half-orc brothers. Needless to say, I've gone forward with Books #1 and 2 of their adventure!

This series shines a light on the struggles of the soul. While there is true evil and heart wrenching dispair in the exploits of the paladins, there remains hope. Thank you David for the justice done to Darius.

David carries a standard of quality to his stories like very few authors could. Halforc and paladins complete i will now move on to the assasin. Anyone who is a fan of this genre will make a mistake by not adding these to their library. I wish darius and jerico would have had one more book and after reading that I would ask for just one more again...

David Dalglish just gets better and better. This is the ending novel of the "Paladins" series and takes us up to the time just before Jerico is re-introduced in the "Half-Orc" series. I don't want to provide spoilers so I'll just say that Mr. Dalglish wraps up the series in a way that is both sad and joyous. Highly recommended, as are all of Mr. Dalglish works.
