CHAPTER 1

Angel

I am
the
silent touch
of
a child's kiss

Peace

Touch hands
heal hearts
mastermind peace
you and I

Voice

Do you hear me?
I am your spirit
Can you feel me?
I am your soul

I Shaped Your Future

With my stern voice
and angry look
my back turned away
from your innocence
when I was all you had
my hands were harsh
and spirit gone
ashamed at me for who I am
your voice so quiet
tears and fear
I shaped your future, I did

Portrait

Your shadow
is mine
so tall and proud
my child
my portrait

Smile

Show me you
in motion
like the waves
of the sea
deep blue

Beloved Folk's Hands

I held for one moment
two sets of hands
I felt, for the first time
love, warmth, hurt
I could have explored the world
hands have tales
maps of their own
texture, valleys, strength, bond

Mother

A lap so intricately made

Swept

I embraced you
the way
a rainbow
hugs the earth
and you let go

Roses

Your velvet bed
of opened buds
caress and hold me
I need
your human touch

Tribal Drums

Slow, steady beat
of my heart
giving my soul
to the wind

Child

You borrowed me
your gentleness
your innocence
I grasped and held

Tears

The gentle
form of rain
salty
healing
forgiving

Salute

I do
with my hand
embedded
deep over my heart
I salute you

Rain Droplet

Your magnifying glass
lay on one cell
10,000 times
greater than I

Triage

You chose me
to strengthen
faith

Mirage

You fooled me
only in my mind
to bring me
within you

Web

Web of silence
fate
intimacy
strength
our minds

Breath

Your breath
swayed the boughs
you whispered
I listened

Flight

A path lay given
there is no light
only instinct

Sadness

There is
no greater
fear
than being
alone

Prairie

I stand before you
on your virgin land
taken aback
by your
simple beauty

Wolf

A legend's
last stand
the cry

Love

There is
no
greater gift

Heart

My heart
has taken
yet another beating
and
my soul is dying
my tears
are fallen comrades

Canyon

Your presence
so deeply
engraved

Mountains

You speak
of your majesty
this is

Meadow

I lay wounded
in the palms
of your
greatness

God

I am
the power
peace
and light

Seasons

I am
the teacher
and
provider

Prisms

I surrender
to
your solitude
and beauty

Darkness

The unspoken
silence

Call of the Night

I am safe now
far
below
the moon

Turtle

My shell
is
as fragile
as
my heart

Dandelion

One by one
my tentacles
are
being lifted
by your breath

Moon
The nights
lullaby

Sun

Awakened
by
your energy

Smile

The broken
language
barrier

Disease

A great lesson
of
faith

Birds

I come to you
from God
to awaken
your love
for me

Tree

Let my
rustling leaves
ease
your mind

Bumble Bee

I give you
food
from my body
to
give you life

Flower

Each intimate
petal
so simple
of life

Believe

That you
are
a child
of GOD

Frog

The still
of the night
carries my voice

Animals

I blend
into
the very essence
of nature
by your hand, God

Predators

Do not fear
the wild
I too
must survive

Beach

I fade
into you
as
I meet
your
mighty fortress

Owl

God provides
deep
into the
night

Moss

I cling
to your
solid
strength

Veil

I come
to you
in love
why
does it end

Creek

Look
within me
to
find you

Agate

Nestled beauty
unspoken

Cross

It is
no one
but me
that chose
to leave
my faith

I'm There

Remember
if only
for a little while
that you think
I'm too good
to be true
God put me there
just for you
to learn

Cloud

I'm no less
than you
even though
high above

Rays of Sun

I offer you
the
ladders
of heaven

Home

I put you
in a certain place
at a certain time
to take you
don't be afraid
of my promise

Birth

Hold me
the way
you held me
inside
always

Ring

Love bound
with
each other's
spiritual
souls

Me

Don't take
who I am
for granted

Ember

One small
spark
to begin
life

Dance
with me
dance with me
for life

Survivor
of
the prairie

Steeple

One voice
stands
alone

Beacon

Eye
of hope

Death

My face
lay
upon yours
and
received
peace

Dad

Your quiet
posture
is
who I am

Face

Lonely and sad
if only
you would
let
me in

River

Energy
in its
purest form

Valley

Behold me
I am
your
cradle

Desert

This
is how
I feel
when
you
turned
away

Columbine

Petals
of
poignant
of
endurance
of
power

Hurt

I felt
sorrow
for the
others
saw greed

Burial

Lower me
so
I may
nourish
the
hungry
earth

The
somber
dance
of
life

Drunk
only
from an
empty
cup

Fern

Your
pattern
so
delicately
woven

A slim
glimmer
of
hope

Dancing
of the
ripple

Homestead

The
sturdiness
of
ravaged
times

Hate

There
is no
true
meaning
only
yours

Betrayal

Even
my tears
feel
the pain
as they
creep
down
my face
waiting
for
the next
tear
to
join them

Time

Forever
and
ever
if
only

Rainbow

One
droplet
of
color
so
delicately
woven
together

My
voice
is
a
silent
solo

we have
lived

it's
time

rest your
weariness
upon my
strength
I
gathered
from
you

Joy

Such
a
simple
word
yet
so
hard
to
find
