This was a book in a series that has captured my imagination. The Entwined Realms is a world where a magic has now become part of the lives of people who never knew it two decades ago. Reading the first book gives you the background needed to really grasp some of the subtle interactions between the secondary charactors. I would recomend reading these in the order they were written. They pull you in and you will not want to leave.

I think I've found a new favorite author. Danielle doesn't fail to hook you in on the third Entwined Realms book. She lures you into her intriguing world and leaves you craving more - always more. Eh and Nalah are fun, believable characters that have you continually loving this series - even if you miss hearing more about Tenak and Larissa. I can't wait until the next novel is out!

All three stories in this series are very interesting and different from other paranormal stories. Cannot wait for the next book in the series.

The Cage King, A Novella of the Entwined Realms, Danielle Monsch Review from jeannie zelos book reviews So, second ( or perhaps 1.5) book in the series. I’ve not read book one though from sample and reviews I’m not sure how they connect, and I don’t think that affected how I felt about this novel. Its a strange book, full of magic and mysterious characters, people who are not what or who they seem, the usual rich, murderous bullies and a search to retrieve a missing magical ring that could prove disastrous for the world. Lots to pack in to 142 pages, and perhaps that's part of my problem. I felt there was lots going on, but there wasn’t really enough info or time spent with the leading characters for me to take to them. Nalah seemed to still be blaming Esh for the tragedy of five years past...and yet he was her lover and her brothers best friend. They’d all been friends since they were very young, and helped each other survive a very harsh existence on the streets. So to have just left him as she did – well, I could see why he wasn’t happy about it. The story of the cage fights, and the man running them, didn’t seem to marry up properly for me with the magical side of events. I wasn’t sure why he’d raided the Guild and stolen such precious items – or how he managed to do it being un-magical himself, and ( you’d think) the Guild would have them well protected. Given the Tour with the fights was kept very secret and Esh had refused to join up til now, it seemed to me Nalah was naive not to consider the danger to Esh life. For all that she professed she was going to hold out against him and his attraction that didn’t last long ( but did give some searingly sensual moments). To be honest I wasn’t sure where the focus was here – the fights and the lust for blood and power, or the Magic and the power that comes from obtaining certain artefacts. I’m not keen either on danger being overcome by unknown and last minute interactions...but that's me Winking smile Stars: 2.5. there were parts I liked but overall it just felt too muddled for me. To the Victor belong the Spoils, and as the Ruler of the Fight Scene, all the spoils belong to Esh - Money, Fame, Power... Everything, except one woman who disappeared five years ago. Now Nalah is back, a member of the Guild and in need of his help to get access to the greatest Cage Match in the New Realms. To Nalah, this is nothing but an assignment, Esh only a tool to be used to collect a magical artifact of great power, and she will not, will not, allow the fire that has always burned bright between them to reignite - no matter how much Esh tempts her. Five years ago Nalah left, and in that time she may have forgotten something, something Esh will remind her of - when The Cage King fights, he always wins. Review ¿¿ I really adored the first book in this series, Stone Guardian (Entwined Realms Book 1)  and if you haven't read it yet and are looking for a great new Paranormal Series, you really should pick it up! This novella continues the wonderful magic world building began in that book. The couple is great as is the action. They were childhood sweethearts if that term can apply to street kinds and I think it can. Things went wrong and this book has them reuniting. Esh, our hero, is very alpha but also tender and steadfast. Our heroine, Nalah, is portrayed with deft psychological truths and is easy to like. There are parts of this novella that are painted with a less detailed brush than I would like but I am happy to return to this would and see this couple's journey. There are some fun surprises along the way and the cast of mythological and magic beings is not to be missed. I was given this book for my honest review. So, there you have it!

The more I read Danielle' s stories the better I like them. She doesn't pull punches so her characters are real people/creatures. I liked this novella. Nalah grieved over her brother for 5 years and joined The Guild. Esh loved her and was part of his death. There are sparks when they meet again. Esh makes a living with cage fights. Nalah was to get a ring during a Tour contest. Esh swears she won't go alone. There were lots of HOT moments between them not to mention the action in the fight cage. You will  be surprised at the end of the book. But first you have to get this book. Hurry Hurry Run Run! I have this book for an honest review for NetGalley.
