Have you ever felt your world shatter from one day to the next?
For Monica, that moment would happen when she'd least expect it. She was twenty-three living on coffee and cigarettes when she woke up with a lump protruding from her neck.
Four years after her haunting battle with cancer, she travels to an Ashram. While trying to master yoga poses-Monica struggles to heal from her dark and tormenting past.
At the Ashram, a nightmare of a red-filled syringe piercing her hand sends her into panic. She realizes she must unravel layers of hidden pain and face her darkest truth-cancer. In her quest for healing, she discovers that survival has nothing to do with going into remission.
THE CANCER WARRIOR is a courageous, yet gut-wrenching memoir of a rebellious cancer survivor's journey from victim to warrior.

About the Author
Monica Mateo has been in the field of secular counseling for over ten years. She has counseled mental health patients, domestic violence victims, inmates, and at risk youth. She has a gift and passion for counseling, however, when she began her walk with Christ she was being told by the Holy Spirit that it's time to heal God's people. In a time of severe confusion, rebellion, crisis, injustice, social media addiction, school shootings, and terrorism - we are being called to devote our lives even more to God's Kingdom.
Before being called to Christ in December 17, 2017, she was a practicing Buddhist for about eight years. She has experience and knowledge of New Age and Eastern philosophy, which has confused and pulled people away from God's path. God provided her with GRACE and MERCY during that dark time.
She is also a cancer survivor of lymphoma (diagnosed at 23 years of age and went into remission in 2009) and authored a book of her experience called The Cancer Warrior. The memoir was written before her walk with Christ and is evidence of her transformation and spiritual warfare. She is working on a second book Humble Feet, which will allow believers to overcome many challenges facing Christian's today.
She resides in New Jersey with her husband and son.
