The Captain of Her Heart by Anita Stansfield

The year is 1777. As the brooding mists of war settle over a stark American battlefield, Captain Ritcherd Buchanan yearns for his native England—and for Kyrah Payne, the woman he loves. An exceptional love story by bestselling author Anita Stansfield.

This book is 314 pages long. The editing is very good. It is a historical bodice ripper. It is also a cliff hanger and the first book in a series. There is an excerpt at the end. This book does everything to the heroune but murder her and it almost does that. This is typical of this type of so called romance. These books shoukd be in a genre named rape and beaten books. The only difference in this book is the hero only rapes her once, tenderly of course and the other man rapes her and beats the crap out of her. While she is pregnant. This book is violent, has rape, beatings, kiddnapping, murder, several other abuses and the mother (in law) from hell. I DID NOT LIKE NOR DO i recommend thus cliched and cheesy, predictable novel. There are no resolutions. The next book has to be purchased and it is almost $11.00. I will not be purchasing it. AD

This is different than any other book Anita Stansfield has written and it is wonderful! I was a little disappointed at first to realize that the characters weren't related to the Hamilton or Trevor characters of her previous books. It is refreshing as well as a mini history lesson into America's fight for independence.

Very good.

Totally cliche and sappy. Not at all accurate to the time period, either. All romance with practically nothing else. And, to the diserning reader, not only is their an abundance of romance, there is also sexual content.

This is my first book by this author, so i am not famliar with her work. This story was different. It is about 900 pages. I did not like what happened to the female with Peter. I did not like this story line. There was kissing but nothing else was described. There was a lot of prayer to God. The story is a mixture of christianity with one indiscretion that needs forgiveness. It is a very moving story.

I loved this story. It begins with two children who fall in love from the time they were young. He goes to fight for England in the war between the colonies in America and returns to find her distrought where she loses everything. I loved the storyline and felt sympathy for all that happened to them both but after 200 pgs I shook my head. How can so many bad things happen to two honest, loving people. It was over 300 pages on my Nook but was more like book pages. Each page turned didn't page up. I kept thinking... enough already.... will they be together in the end or not?
