About the Author

I love nothing better than a good romance story! If the heroine gets spanked, that's just the icing on the cake! I have lived in the Midwest all my life and have a great family which includes five wonderful children and a patient husband. I hope to continue to write. I love it tremendously, and I hope you enjoy reading my stories as much as I love creating them for you.

I really liked this book. Agent Thorn is working on a case. He is joined by his friend and sometime partner, Boxcar. On top of that, Boxcar's sister, Clary has followed her love, Thorn out west. He is unhappy about that, for reasons which are made clear, and he lets her know it in no uncertain terms. I really like reading about law men working cases prior to all the scientific advances available today. I also really enjoyed Thorn and Boxcar's relationship. There is good banter and humor in this story as well as several spankings. It finished earlier than I would have liked, but it seems this is the intro to a series. I can't wait for the next book. I know I'll enjoy whatever case Thorn is working on and really look forward to the evolving relationship of Thorn and Clary as well as Boxcar's friendship with Callie.

This is a nice start to a new series, although it is too short. The characters needed further development to make this a 5 star book. In saying that, the plot and what we do know about the characters is very good. The book has intrigue, danger, love, discipline, suspense, feisty women, alpha men and discipline. What more can a reader want? I look forward to the next instalment.

WESTERN MYSTERY WITH ROMANCE This story kept me captivated with a combination of mystery, suspense, detective work, and a long-standing romance that has been brewing for years. Thorn is a man on a mission for Wells Fargo with several encounters with card sharks, unscrupulous characters, landowners selling out when they are plagued with mishaps, a feisty teenager girl seeking revenge, a gang of outlaws and then his love from back East shows up in the middle of the investigation. The plot twists keep this story in constant suspense, trying to find who is behind the land buyouts and why. This is the beginning of a new series, just enough mystery, a little bit of romance, dominant men and feisty women, and several spankings.

This was a quick read. I am glad to know that more is too follow because I felt like this was just getting interesting when it ended. The characters are interesting but I just feel like I need to get to know them better. However it was good for historical western and I look forward to the next edition.

4 stars This was a cute story about Thorn and Clary. Thorn works for Wells Fargo. Clary is in love with Thorn, and is from the East coast. Thorn didn’t want her to come out west because it was too dangerous. She didn’t care. She wanted more adventure in her life, and she found it. There was a second story, sort of a mystery as to who was running ranchers off their property and buying it for cheap. Clarity chose this time to come out west. Thorn really loves Clarity and wants to marry her, but doesn’t feel he is ready for marriage. The story had likeable characters and strong women that defied men. I enjoyed the read, but would have liked more development of who each of them were. It was a nice start to a new series.

The Case of the Great Land Grab, Agent Thorn, Book One, by Brandy Golden is an attention grabbing story from the beginning. Two alpha male heroes, Thorn and Boxcar, keep the story exciting with mystery, intrigue, murder and naughty women in need of a strong man and a firm hand. Clary, Boxcar's sister, and Callie Perkins keep these men on their toes with their strong willed and independent ways. As Thorn and Boxcar investigate the land grab there are many twists and turns leading to the real culprit. I loved the storyline and characters along with the spanking and love story. I can't wait for the next book and seeing the way the relationship between Thorn and Clary continues and where the other characters are heading as well. I loved this book and recommend it to any one who loves a great western with mystery, intrigue, and domestic discipline!
