About the Author

Tara Lain writes the Beautiful Boys of Romance in LGBT romance novels that star her unique, charismatic heroes. Her best-selling novels have garnered awards for Best Series, Best Contemporary Romance, Best Erotic Romance, Best Ménage, Best LGBT Romance, and Best Gay Characters, and more. Readers often call her books “sweet,” even with all that hawt sex, because Tara believes in love and her books deliver on happily-ever-after. In her other job, Tara owns an advertising and public relations firm. Her love of creating book titles comes from years of manifesting ad headlines for everything from analytical instruments to semiconductors. She does workshops on both author promotion and writing craft. She lives with her soulmate husband and her soulmate dog (who’s a little jealous of all those cat pictures Tara posts on FB) in Laguna Niguel, California, near the seaside towns where she sets a lot of her books. Passionate about diversity, justice, and new experiences, Tara says that on her tombstone, it will say “Yes!”

I love a good mystery, I especially love it when I don't figure out the bad guy in the first few pages. Ms. Lain's story is one of the few that actually threw me off and I was as surprised as everyone else when the bad guy was names. Dr. Llewellyn Lewis is a shy nerdy professor who loves a good research mystery. By day he is tan pants, sweaters , hates crowds and has a distinct stutter. However, at night he transforms to Ramon a flashy confident man who doesn't stutter and is a mystery everyone wants to solve. Blaise, our love interest was hard to read. You know he is not who he seams but can't put your finger on who he is and what he is hiding. This was an interesting storyline, keeps moving quickly and keeps you on your toes as you try to unravel the mysteries. Great characters, lots of players to keep things interesting and a head of department that is just a complete Jack @#s. I loved Llewellyn's teaching assistant, she was just the right balance to his shy demeanor. A great fun read. Looking forward to the next Middlemark Mystery.

“The Case of the Sexy Shakespearean” by Tara Lain is an adult m/m cozy mystery that features Dr. Llewellyn Lewis, who gets caught up in a very lucrative research proposition. His alter-ego only gets a brief cameo but definitely is enchanted by the man who turns out to be a new teaching assistant at Llewellyn’s university. The prospect of proving someone else wrote the works attributed to Shakespeare is sweetened with a significant financial incentive, but the search may prove deadly. I always look forward to devouring a new story by this talented author because I like her characters and their ability to overcome their obstacles and find someone who embraces them for who they are. I enjoyed watching the personable professor work his way through the minefield of his job and personal preferences. I would have liked a little more of Rondell’s personality to be displayed and I’m not quite sure I like or forgive Blaise yet but hopefully he will continue to redeem himself. There were great twists to the mystery and I enjoyed Llewellyn’s self-deprecation and humility that mask his incisive mind and skill. I look forward to meeting more of this author’s “beautiful boys” and watching them solve more mysteries. A copy of this title was provided to me for review

m/m The Case of the Sexy Shakespearean is a fun, sweet m/m romantic mystery. There are twists and turns everywhere and our intrepid hero academic Dr. Llewellyn Lewis has to dig through them to get to the truth. Something he is very good at. What he isn’t good at is peopling but no worries Blaise will blaze a path for him. This story is terrific and I look forward to future Middlemark Mysteries.
