About the Author
Don Wilkerson, co-founder of Times Square Church and Brooklyn Teen Challenge, returned in June 2008 to the Center where it all began over 50 years ago. Don joined his brother David at the beginning of Teen Challenge and served as the Executive Director for over twenty-six years. The Center became the inspiration and model for similar programs across the United States and around the world. Today Teen Challenge is in 115 countries with over eleven-hundred Centers and growing. Don and his wife Cindy, who now live in Virginia, and have three children and five grandchildren. Teen Challenge is a Christian-based organization. The purpose of TC is to help people who have life-controlling problems and initiate the discipleship process to the point where the student can function as a Christian in society. The TC approach is to teach a whole new way of living by addressing family relationships, work attitudes, self-image and esteem, peer pressure, addictions, social issues, community relationship, and a variety of other life skills.
