About the Author

THANKS FOR VISITING MY PAGEHere's some stuff about me; if you want the stories they are down the page.I'm a writer of mainly horror, science-fiction and fantasy stories, and live with my wife and three cats [one poorly] in County Durham, England. When I'm not being a full-time carer, I enjoy writing, reading, watching films and TV, and drinking good beer with good friends.I was always creative since as far back as I remember, and at school wrote lots of bits and pieces, mainly silly unfinished stuff. At about eighteen I started writing a bit more seriously and produced around 40 stories in a year or two. Some of them were published in small press magazines "Cthulhu Cultus", "Dark Legacy", "Dread", "Pop Fiction", "The Domain", "The Ancient Track", "Blue Silver Dementia" e-zines and websites, "Frightnet", "Nightscapes", "Dark Portal", "unHolyTower" "alt.ghoststories.", "Writers Dungeon", "Raise The Dead", and I've had one story regretfully rejected from Chaosium Books. Then the writing went on hold for about ten years. Recently, my friend and fellow writer Jonathan Strickland has inspired me to publish these old stories, and I am now also writing new stuff again. I am currently working on converting and tidying up my old work from my trusty Amiga to the PC, before it is lost to time. I'm also working on a creature-feature-type novel, writing book and film reviews, thinking about a horror-short-story-reference work, and fiddling about with a blog. I am also beginning to submit stories to markets again, both print and on-line publications. My influences are mostly in the genres in which I write and include H.P.Lovecraft, Stephen King, Clive Barker, Clark Ashton Smith, Thomas Ligotti, Sue Townsend, Harry Adam Knight, Poe, Saki and many more.I'm very much enjoying publishing my work on smashwords, and reading other people's work, and reading the reviews of my readers. Feedback is very much encouraged.Of the stories here, UNCONTAINABLE and BLUE, [2013] EYE CHECK and SKIPPY JACK JOE [2012] are the most recently written, while HUNTING COMP and CONS go back to the mid 1990's.Thanks to all who have downloaded, read or reviewed my stories. Like most writers [some don't give a hoot], any feedback is very important to me, and I appreciate every review.Any comments, queries, or correspondence can be sent off to mickcarter1978@gmail.comEnjoy.The next story to be published here will be ?
