The Challenging Child: Understanding, Raising, and Enjoying the Five Difficult Types of Children based on 0 ratings. 1 reviews.
This book is a great place for even the most organized of parents to get ideas for dealing with their challenging child. As the book points out, one of the reasons that a challenging child is so difficult, is that they don't respond to punishment - they don't seem to learn from their mistakes, the way other children do. This book gives many tools to help parents provide a structure, supported by positive reinforcement, that motivates a challenging child to grow and improve their everyday functioning and productivity. We have been using the organization and system of positive rewards for my child for the past 6 weeks and have had great success keeping him on track, the house organized, and his grades up. The best part is that the yelling that seemed to have become a common, everyday occurance is almost non-existant. Everyone in the home, parents and children are much more relaxed and happier as a result. I can't recomend this book enough.
