I am a real fan of all Judge Dee mysteries. They present another culture, so be prepared for that. This set of three crimes to solve (there are always three) are not necessarily really about the true Judge Dee, but feature him as the central character. Read about "Judge Dee" on Wikipedia to understand somewhat of the authorship, background and structure of this series of mysteries. And then be prepared to also become a great fan.
