I liked the book, the story is a great mix of romance, mistic things, suspense and investigation. At the beginning I didn't like Marcie, because I just don't get her, she knew it was wrong still she did it, but all for the choices. I loved Sam, he's romantic in a very manly way, gentle, idealistic. He works for a special time, and chose to fight for the good side. He didn't had a good childhood, but he chose to fight the good batles. Sam has a best friend, Jesse, they grew up at the same neighborhood, and bout are cops. Marcie spirit guide has a beautiful story and so sad, couldn't help but shed some tears, very emotional times. I have to say I was chearing for them to be together, cause after I get to know Marcie and her motives the things kinda of changed pictures, and I was on her side completely. Sam was so good with Marcie, and they have a chemistry.

The first quality the reader will notice about this novel is the amount of events occurring and meshing together all at once. The reader will experience a drug bust, haughty and cruel drug lord, dirty cops, dark entities, etc... Marcie, the main character, is smack dab in the middle of all of this. Marcie is being utilized as a mule for her boyfriend, Dan, who turns out to have some magical persuasive powers of his own. Sam, an agent working to nab Dan and stop the operation, sees and instantly wants Marcie for himself. Marcie is one of those odd, but interesting characters who can see dead people. She is a sympathetic character while Sam is the strong, handsome hero. It doesn't take long for this story to get fairly steamy, there is a little bit of sex (for 18+ readers). The novel is predictable in many ways, but there are a few surprising twists thrown in. The ending is satisfying and expected. This novel is recommended for adult readers who enjoy contemporary romance.

this was a truly wonderful book. the characters were intriguing and full of depth and vitallity. it was very easy to become emotionally connected to each of the characters and to empathize with them and what they were going through. the plot was also complex and stimulating and was not one of those that you could solve in the first 5 minutes but it left you guessing until the end as to who did what. a truely great story by a gifted writer. if this is the type of book that you enjoy then this is the book for you

Sam and Marcie's lives intersect at a crucial juncture. Marcie has gotten herself in too deep in the world of high-grade marijuana, and Sam has left the DEA to do his own investigation to discover who set him up as the fall guy in an international drug bust gone bad. Both victims of past love, there is a lot of mistrust between them. But they hold on to each other throughout and keep each other safe. The Choice by Lorhainne Eckhart has an interesting paranormal twist. Marcie is able to read auras and has several spirit guides. If only she had listened to them earlier, she wouldn't have ended up in the mess she did. Now she's given a second chance to change the path her life is on, and she has some difficult choices to make. The Choice is a book filled with suspense and characters that draw the reader in. The mystery and intrigue keep you turning the pages. Though it is a little cookie cutter suspense at times, the paranormal twist adds to the uniqueness of the book, letting the reader overlook that. As I read the book, I grew fond of most of the characters, but I admit, I never really clicked with Marcie, unfortunately. She is well portrayed by Lorhainne Eckhart in the beginning as a victim of childhood abuse who puts all her self-worth in the hands of others, one man in particular. A simple thing such as not opening a door for her can send her into a downward spiral of self-doubt and abandonment. As the plot progressed, I hoped her character would grow out of some of this as she developed a sense of self-worth that came from inside of her, as she made better choices. What I got was a woman who simply switched which man's hands carried her self-esteem. Despite this quirk in her personality, I was still going to give the book a solid four stars. But then the ending of the book was not what I expected. There was too much left hanging. In a good suspense novel, most loose ends are tied up, and if the author is looking to write a sequel, a mystery or two is left to entice the reader to buy the next book. This ending simply confirmed things the characters already knew instead of bringing to light new knowledge. Too much went unsolved. I needed more resolution. I believe that Lorhainne Eckhart is a wonderful author - her technique as a writer is excellent and her plots are engaging and entertaining. In this particular book, though, I felt that some of the subplots could have been left out to leave more room for growth and resolution. I give the book three and a half stars.

This book absolutely blew me away! I became so invested in the characters that I fully expected to see Marcie and Sam come walking into my house. The writing is vivid and inventive, the plot line grabs you and shouts Pay Attention! Kudos to the author. I highly recommend this book, but be prepared for your stomach muscles to cramp and to find your shoulders tensed up when you stop reading for a bit. Mine were. Diane in JAX

No real ending. Another one of those authors who leaves the ending up in the air trying to force you to buy the next book. Sorry. Either put all the books together for free or sell them but dont force this.

A potential good book. Many promises of a thrill ride but the story just drops off and forgets its direction. I kept reading, waiting to be fulfilled and then its over...what? All the lead up for nil. So many interesting characters just to fill paragraphs. Ill never read this author again.

I love mysteries and romance but this book was just annoying. Marcie was weak and whiny and never did seem to change although everyone acted like they were so proud of her accomplishments. And no matter how much you talk about goodness and faith, witchcraft is never pure or good. God is good and clearly teaches against divination or calling on spirits. As a Christian, I couldn't continue to read this series.

Decisions made in life come from the teachings of others who influence individuals in the growing up years and beyond. The Choice, written by Lorhainne Eckhart shows not how only living teachers but those from the past come to help the heroine, Marcienda Dawn Hollis, make the right decision. Eckhart weaves the teachings that Marcie learned while growing up and then the results of the bad decisions when she chose not to listen to those lessons - only to get into a jam and finally have others help her listen to those teachings again to make a tough choice.
