I was given "The Chosen of Gaia" for Christmas present and I only rested when I went through. I couldn't leave the book until the very end  of it. I simply loved it.  The way the author played with the words and manipulate the characters is so unique that I'm yet to read a book like this. What a talent. I recommend this book to everyone who wants to jump into a great journey. I read books every week but this one will be stuck in my mind maybe forever.

This novel was written for young adults, but believe me it's a book for any age. I'm on my 30's and I couldn't put it down! Really enjoyed reading about the new house, cool gadgets, the Olympics' games, and Agent Soup investigation!

A friend told me about the book and I got interested and decided to buy it by Amazon. I've received the book around two weeks ago, and it was so interesting that I have already read it all!!! It's that kind of book that you just can't stop reading!!! Congratulations to the author! I recommend it to everybody, but it is for sure a great option for teenagers gift during next Christmas!! Hope you all also have the opportunity to enjoy it!

What a great book, I started reading it because a friend of mine recommended it to me but once I started reading it, I couldn't stop, I had to know what would happen next... I was really pleased with my friend's recommendation, now I am the one who is telling my friends to read it also... five stars for sure!

With all the sci-fi books for younger readers coming out, The Chosen Of Gaia stands out as it combines the fantastical, the human, the suspenseful and the comedic so naturally. The depiction of a plausible but still flawed utopian world turned out to be a great setting for a coming of age story. The author's wit and warmth shine through the dialog and descriptions, and it's refreshing to take in the wording and style of an author born and raised outside the English-speaking world.

Many are familiar with the "ancient astronaut" theory that extraterrestrials "seeded" or influenced the first great ancient civilizations on earth. The Chosen Of Gaia is an interesting twist on the theme, as it describes a world where ancient human people colonized another planet while maintaining a complex relationship with those left behind. This first time novel by a Brazilian playwright alternates fantastical thrills with goofy humor and sympathetic portrayals of realistic coming of age feelings and social dynamics. Like the Hunger Games it aspires to cinematic pretensions, and much like Harry Potter it's fast-paced plot line should appeal to readers all the way from older child to young-at-heart adult.

I enjoyed the different style that the author has to narrate the story - I always preferred fast paced books with exciting dialogues and The Chosen of Gaia didn't disappoint me at all! All characters are very well built and with a great sense of humor. The descriptions are compelling and I was able to place myself in the story and relate to all things that Albert went through.

Can’t believe I am going to share this with the world. But for a guy who has only read 5 books in my life time, this is absolutely my favorite! I found myself reading this book at work, and not during breaks, during working hours! I just couldn’t put the book down, it was very exciting and intriguing. The world will absolutely love it.

After reading this book in one breath, all I wish is to be Chosen and to discover Gaia, the most amazing, pure , peaceful planet M.Mariz created. All the characters are wonderful and the ending was dreamy A must read for this fall!

Awesome! Fiction, mystery and a dash of spiritualism - mixing all these ingredients, the author makes reading exciting, challenging our imagination and holding our attention until the last paragraph. Pretty good!

The author was audacious since the first line with her lighthearted but thought-provoking style. By allowing the story to unfold by itself, she got me hooked from the very first chapter.

I won this book from the Librarything giveaway program and Im so glad I did! It was a fantastic dystopian! It was a perfect blend of fantasy, mystery, and a touch of sci-fi. The main characters are very likable and you find yourself wishing you were as lucky as them and becoming a chosen one who get's to move to Gaia and experience all this amazing advanced technology. I would love a closet that works like there's does, not to mention the flyers, personal MODs and intensifiers! Just such a fun creative world anyone would want to step in and experience. I would of gave this five stars if it wasn't for the few spelling and grammatical errors. The story itself though is a fast incredible and a must read for fantasy lovers. Young adults are sure to love this book! I would also love to see this book made into a movie!

The Chosen of Gaia is the perfect choice for light reading and entertainment. M. Mariz presents a perfect society with immense technological advancements and little worry about crime or disease. Albert and his family are introduced to this new world, Gaia, as a family of Chosen. They'll have to adjust to their new life or return to Earth with no memory of their experience. Albert, his twin sister Ruth, and their mother Sophia wholeheartedly agree to the journey, but their father, Victor, hesitates. The very opening of the novel presents to this normal family a life-altering decision that changes their perspective of themselves and the worlds around them. Within this story, Mariz doesn't let everything proceed smoothly. The characters face opposition and uncertainty. The Chosen of Gaia is truly a story that readers of any age can enjoy because of the lessons both the parents and children learn. Albert and Ruth's journey is the most impressive because they come to blossom on Gaia, especially when their peaceful stay on the small, green planet turns violent. Even when separated from their parents they learn to rely on each other and stand alone against the people who would dare try to force them from their new home. The Chosen of Gaia has light elements of mystery and science-fiction. Light, because there isn't a lot of complicated jargon and the story doesn't get more complicated than exploring life on a hidden planet with futuristic technology. M. Mariz's debut young adult novel comes highly recommended! *Copy of book provided for honest review and blog tour purposes*

The Chosen of Gaia by M. Mariz is a great story for young adults. It tells the story of Albert, a 15 year old boy, and the rest of his family on their adventure into an advanced society. The Gaians keep an eye out for people that meet certain requirements to bring into their society to help enrich their way of life. Despite the claims of an ideal society made by the Gaians Albert learns that there are hidden elements that don't agree with the policy of bringing in outsiders. Albert's family must keep their wits about them in order to prove their worth if they want to stay in their new home and possibly survive. I really enjoyed many aspects of this book with the information on Atlantis being a neat addition. The pacing of this book was pretty good with twists coming at the appropriate times to spark another level of interest. The technology exhibited by the Gaians was great and had some very intriguing applications, especially the variety of changes the houses were capable of affecting. There is a little something for everyone in this book. There is crime to solve, futuristic technology, young love, sports, action, intrigue, thrills, conspiracies, and more. If you pick up a copy of the book for yourself or your child (I'd guess middle school and above but I'm pretty bad at guessing reading levels) you won't regret it. I received a copy of this book from a literary publicity agent in exchange for a review.
