Event planner Eve Canaday and her secret crush, Dr. Ben Tyler, are unexpectedly drafted to help a little girl fulfill her late mother's wish--a magical Christmas to create some happy memories. Eve sees this opportunity as a sign; Ben, as a glitch in his plan to leave Marietta behind for good.

As the trio checks off the to-do list of Christmas fun, Ben's 'bah-humbug' opinion of the holiday fades, along with ideas about keeping his distance from Eve. Getting involved is the last thing he wants to do but, alas, there's no accounting for cosmic interference.

With the season of miracles upon this jewel of a town, will Eve find it's possible that Christmas wishes aren't only for little girls?

Malcolm has fallen off a ladder and must stay in hospital. Who will take care of his 4 year old daughter Lily? He asked Ben to take her home. Eve offers to help Ben care for Lily. Can Lily and Eve help Ben enjoy Christmas again? A well written novella with strong and believable characters. I enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down. Joy943

Barbara Ankrum did not write a cliffhanger. It was a full story of a complicated lobe affair. The matetial is geared towards a mature adult krypton the explicir sex scenes. I espeislly appreciated the loving notes from Patsy.

A feel good holiday story

This story was so sweet and heartwarming it really didn't need the sex scenes. The tension was there but the actual sex scenes were out of place and derailed the feeling. Some things are better left to the imagination.

Greener Pastures, NOT! Ben doesn't really know what he wants and figures chasing green pastures will make him happier, but he isn't so confident in his choices that he does't lets everyone know.... Eve has been longing for Ben it seems since she was introduced to him...... Fate seems to zap the action into place, with the help of a reindeer, some angel feathers and a little girl... Sometimes we need that little reality, mysterious happenings to move us in the right direction. Received an ARC for an honest and fair review.

LOVED this book, read in one day. The magic of Christmas has hit Eve and Ben with the help of a little girl, Lily and letters from Lily's deceased mother. The letters were meant for Lily's dad but he he is recovering in the hospital, so he has asked his friends Eve and Ben to help with Lily during the holiday season. Eve and Ben have been friends forever, Eve wants more but Ben is leaving Marietta forever to work in the jungle as a doctor. Can a few letters, a little girl and the magic of Christmas change his plans? Loved the reindeer!! I highly recommend this book this holiday season!!

It was delightful to be back in Marietta and to see another couple celebrate Christmas and fumble into love. I liked the setup and the story itself a lot, it had a great flow, and the story was well written, easy to get into. I liked how Eve and Ben step up and help their friend in need. There were several adorable, Christmas filled moments in the tale when they are creating the perfect Christmas to make sweet memories for Lily. There seemed to be magic in the air, the kind that makes you want to believe in Santa Claus and Christmas miracles. Eve and Ben had been friends for a year and seemed to have a meaningful relationship, as friends, I'm a sucker for a good from friends to lovers plotline, one of my favorite ways to find forever kind of relationship. And this is where I fumbled with the story. At the beginning, I was all excited, liking both of them just fine, and wishing everything would work out for them. But as the story went on it started to seem like maybe it wasn't meant to be that they end up together. Ben was clueless with social graces when it came to Eve, it seemed everything he did and said was taken wrong. Eve was a bit of a drama queen, reading into Ben's words and actions and making mostly wrong conclusions and accusations. They frustrated me towards the end, and the ending seemed rather light after all the drama, angst and tears. Withholding the misgivings regarding the relationship between Eve and Ben, the story is deliciously Christmassy, generously drizzled with traditions, snow, love, decorations, children, even a newborn to make you swoon, and surely will set the mood for the upcoming holidays ~ Three Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

I enjoyed reading this Christmas story. Eve is working on an event at The Graff hotel. When her friend Ben asks for her help she is there, waiting for him to notice her. As she is about to give up on him, a Christmas miracle, a wish and a reindeer all help in this light heart-warming story. The cover fits so well with the story and I liked the ending. I received an advanced copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.

The Cowgirl’s Christmas Wish by Barbara Ankrum is her third Canady book. This is Eve and Ben Tyler’s story. Eve is the party planner who for the past year has been friends with Ben. Ben grew up in Marietta, followed his dad’s footsteps to become a doctor, and is now an orthopedic surgeon at the hospital. Ben does not have good memories of Christmas as his parents jet set around the world, without him as he grew up. Ben is restless, not understanding how to fill the emptiness within. He decides to leave Marietta and join a medical group working in Haiti. Or at least spend his Christmas joining the group to see if it is what he wants. However fate intervenes on his way to the airport. As Eve is driving him she runs off the road and into a tree to avoid hitting an elf. Only it’s not an elk. It’s a reindeer. Upon returning to Marietta Hospital, Ben and Eve find their friend Malcolm there after falling off a ladder while hanging Christmas lights. It seems that before his wife died last year she left messages around town for Malcolm and daughter Lily reminding them the importance of celebrating Christmas. With Malcolm laid up in the hospital Ben and Eve take over caring for Lily and celebrating Christmas. As Ben and Eve spend time together Ben recognizes how important Eve is in life and realizes her love for him. These letters left for Malcolm not only remind him of the importance of celebrating Christmas but also the value of living and loving. Reading these letters also remind Ben of those significant facts. Ben needs to decide whether or not to take a chance on Eve and love or go to Haiti as he had planned. This was a sweet, fun and entertaining story with very likeable and authentic characters that you want to cheer on, hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written with complex characteristics. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I genuinely enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. I highly recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Two best friends team up to make a little girl's first Christmas without her mother special and discover they can make each other’s Christmas special too. Eve Canaday has had a crush on Ben Tyler for quite some time. But she is afraid she will jeopardize their friendship if she were to tell him exactly how she felt. Ben's plans didn't involve falling in love. His career as an orthopedic surgeon has always been his main focus. But lately he wants to do something more meaningful than just working at the hospital. He signed up for a medical mission in the jungles of Central America. But Ben's plan is put on hold when a good friend has an accident putting Christmas lights on his house. Ben and Eve step up to take care of Malcolm's little girl Lily while he is recovering in the hospital. As Eve and Ben work together to make Lily's Christmas the best ever, they discover themselves falling in love. But will it be enough to make Ben put his plans on hold and stay in Marietta with Eve? This was a well thought out book with a lot great scenes. I just wish the ending had been a little bit longer. I felt it wrapped up too fast.

This is a wonderful holiday read. Eve Canaday can't believe Ben Tyler is leaving Marietta right before the holidays. She's been crushing on him forever and now he's leaving. Well that had been the plan until there is a little mishap with her car and a reindeer. Now Ben is stuck in Marietta for the holidays and he's been roped into helping a young girl great some magical Christmas memories along with Eve. So much for getting out of here without letting his heart fall for Eve!! Definitely a recommended read.
