After escaping from Jerusalem Marcus with his wife Deborah and their new born son join Joseph of Arimathea and make their way to the far reaches of the Roman Empire in an attempt to escape the persecution of his hated enemy Saul of Tarsus. There, after an initial assault by Celtic natives, he is enlisted into the Roman army as an auxiliary officer and spends thirteen happy years as a husband and father.
Then the bubonic plague visits the island taking the lives of Marcus's wife Deborah and their three-year-old daughter Brietta. The loss of his wife and daughter was followed by Rome, at the command of Claudius Caesar, sending his general Aulus Plautius with four legions to subdue and subjugate the island. Marcus with his two sons, Matthias and Joseph again must escape for their lives.
Follow Marcus now as his life of adventure and intrigue continue. The unfolding of events that will ultimately bring him to the gladiatorial arenas of Rome and finally back to Jerusalem just as the city finds itself faced with total destruction will keep you awake turning pages.
