The Club by Lauren Rowe

When playboy businessman Jonas Faraday receives a private note from the anonymous intake agent assigned to process his online application to an exclusive club, he becomes obsessed with finding her and giving her the satisfaction she claims has always eluded her, in order to fulfill his own desperate need for redemption.

Sarah: "When I read Jonas Faraday's brutally honest personal message on his application to The Club, I practically climaxed at my desk. I'm an idiot to risk losing my job but I couldn't resist contacting him. I knew my confession would be like dangling an irresistible carrot in front of his nose-but never in a million years did I think he'd actually hunt me down."

Jonas:"I was shocked to get my intake agent's email-I'd attached that note to my application on a whim, never expecting a reply from an actual person, let alone a reply as mind blowing as that. Her message was so alluring, so irresistible, I've been spiraling into a full-blown obsession ever since I got it. What's her name? What does she look like? Finding her is my top priority."

In The Club, what starts out as an innocent exploration of attraction quickly spirals into a steamy story of unbridled passion, obsession, heartbreak, and, ultimately, redemption.

4.5 out of 5 Stars What a concept. You join a private club with members worldwide. For a hefty fee, you are matched to a group of members which exactly match your sexual preferences. Being worldwide, all you have to do is call in a time and place where you will be, those matched to your preferences will be alerted, and all you have to do is show up and hook up. How do you recognize each other you ask? Well, you are assigned a color code and a bracelet in that color code. You wear the bracelet and the other member will approach you and show you their bracelet too. Really simple right? Jonas Faraday is tired of having to deal with the inevitable emotions women feel when he is done with them. By preference, he wants no emotions, just sex... amazing sex. He is the Sex God that knows how to bring a woman an orgasm ( or multiples) like no other man has done before. Once this is achieved, he is done. Why do women always mix amazing sex with long term commitment? He is in it for the sex right now. He has no intention of making a forever commitment. When he joins The Club, his intake agent is appalled at his God complex. So much so, that she cannot believe he had the gall to personalize a message to her at the end of his application. She reacts to Jonas hubris and breaks the rules by writing him and email putting him in his place. No one, absolutely no one has EVER smack him with words the way Sarah's missive has. For Jonas, Sarah becomes a challenge and he will find her and prove to her he meant every word he wrote on his application. So begins this unique story where emotions are fragile and not easily given, love is but a fantasy, and orgasm a challenge to be attained. This story is well written and absorbing. It is a love story with a unique twist beyond the damaged souls healing each other. I find it gripping, emotionally gripping, and enlightening. One tiny thing that left me ambivalent was the almost stream of consciousness writing. It reminded me of the great writer James Joyce in style which was great... but perhaps at times too much digression. Do not let this stop you from reading this book though. This is a story worth reading and enjoying.

I'm not good at reviews so here goes. I thought the book started a little slow. A lot of thinking going on and not a lot of dialogue. However, that did get better after a couple of chapters. Then things really started to move. I love the characters and story. I can't wait until the next book. I'm not a fan of cliffhangers and having to wait for the next book.

Funny, Smart, Heartwarming and Sexy! 4.5 “Divine Original” Stars! The Review: I had a completely different idea of what this book would be like when I started reading it. I didn’t expect it to be light and fun and I didn’t expect it to absorb me so completely that I got way grumpy when I was interrupted while reading it. EVERYTHING about this book was a pleasant surprised! The Club is wonderfully original, playful, smart and sexy. The characters were amazing, the story was sincere but light, it had a little bit of mystery at the end and it was a lot of fun to read. I can’t wait for the next one. Story/Characters... Sarah Cruz works as an intake agent for “The Club”, a private, very exclusive and secret group that guarantees a perfect match in whatever kind of relationship you’re looking for. She processes applicants that have the money and the background to endeavor in such an adventure. Jonas Faraday wants to have unfettered access to all the women he can handle without the emotional attachment they seem to beg for once he treats them to his god-like skills in the bedroom. He wants no commitments at the end of the date and he wants no guilt for walking away after a night of uncensored pleasure. When his brother tells him about The Club, he’s excited to submit his application. What he doesn’t expect is a snarky, personal reply to the most honest solicitation he’s ever written or spoken, which sends him on a journey to find his “beautiful intake agent”. And sends her on her own stalking mission to find out just who Jonas really is. Sarah Cruz is full of life. She’s confident and smart and witty but she also has huge trust and daddy issues... along with one particular problem Jonas finds too much of a challenge not to jump feet first into. Sarah thinks she’s a ten percerter, a rare woman who can never quit secure that illustrious “big O” that’s eluded her, her entire life. In all her twenty-four years, through all her sexual encounters, she’s never acquired the grand prize, always watching her partner reach their climax before she even saw a glimmering hope of her own. When she reads Jonas’s application and his powerful statement about how he’s no romantic, doesn’t want the flowers and hearts but will excitedly and passionately lead a woman to divine providence and convince her he’s definitely God’s Gift in the bedroom, her body reacts in a way she’s never experience and she covertly replies to his application! When Jonas reads the secret reply from the abrasive yet arousing mystery woman through email, he’s instantly intrigued. But when he reads she’s never achieved her own orgasm, it sends into an obsessive pursuit in finding the woman on the other end of the most forthright and tempting reply he’s ever received. And once they meet, everything changes! The Wrap Up: This read was a little gushy and overly sweet at times but its also delightfully entertaining. It was fun and exciting to become absorbed in every moment of Jonas and Sarah’s journey to find the culmination of human possibility! The beginning was intriguing and immediately got my attention. I was excited to read this one and didn't want to put it down. However, there were a few instances, especially in the beginning and around the middle where the characters, both Jonas and Sarah, go way deep into a lot of internal monologue. Some of their ideas or personality quirks were hammered home more than once and that got a bit repetitious but all in all, I really did enjoy this read. So much so, that I CAN’T WAIT for the next book to see what happens, since this was ended on a slight cliffy. I’m definitely a fan! * Written for Craves the Angst Book Reviews *

Lauren Rowe’s “The Club” is the breathtaking first book in The Club Trilogy. It’s not your typical sex club book, by any stretch of the imagination. The characters are amazing. Jonas, the sexalicious leading man, lives to bring women to climax. Sarah, the intake agent for the club, is a complex and real leading lady who has never had an orgasm. Sarah starts out as Jonas’s “Mount Everest,” because who could resist the challenge of trying to make a girl have her first cum? I loved it. Sign me up for #2 and #3 for sure!

Oh my stars!! This is a hot read! It will make you cry , laugh and want to be in love!! Lauren Rowe is an awesome writer who really knows how to get inside her character's heads. The intelligent, handsome, muscular, Greek godlike, character, Jonas,  is the kind of guy you'd never kick out of bed . And you'd easily want over and over again. So when the lovely, latina  law student, Sarah,  sparks his interest that is when the flames start to slowly ignite between the two. The book is fun. It will make you both laugh and cry. Lauren Rowe builds characters that are both visceral and cerebral. One of my favorite quotes from her book is "It's feelings that leave scars on our hearts." In this book you will go through a gamut of feelings. The characters and what they experience  will stay in your heart and head for a long time. Thankfully it's a trilogy and I can't wait to get my hands on the next two books. Thank you, Lauren for making reading better than television!

Having gone backward and read Captain before The Club, I was already familiar with many of the characters including Jonas and Sarah; I just didn’t have the big picture.  Like standing too close to a Monet, I need to take a step back. Or in my case start from the beginning and read The Club series. After Jonas’s appearances in Captain, I didn’t expect what I got in the club.  Not sure what I expected because I didn’t read the blurb I just grabbed the book. I was surprised, a pleasant surprise.  The book, was again, funny, sexy and I enjoyed it tremendously.  Sarah was witty, smart and the perfect match for the incredibly cocky Jonas.   I am surprised how the book ended, but I have already picked up book two to jump into.  I am giving The Club: The Club Trilogy, Book 1, 5 Boundless stars, I can’t wait to see how the big picture.

This book is very long winded. There is not a lot of dialog which is sad, because it could be a good story.

3 1/2 stars I love the insta love on Jonas' part. I also love Sarah's honesty. Although their original correspondence is a lot easier since it happens with the aid of wine and without any pre-conceived opinions as far as looks go on Jonas' side. Their banter was fabulous and the story was written to fall in love with. Lauren did a fabulous job and I was completely on board...right until the end. This story could have ended prior to the epilogue and despite everything not being wrapped up in a neat bow, the story was fulfilling and enjoyable. For me, the scenes in the epilogue seem a bit forced in order to ensure additional books. I know that a lot of people adore this series, and this really is a pretty great couple. Their sexy times are fun and the way they fall in love is like a dream. The analogies are spot on and a unique way for characters to communicate, but highlighted their intelligence without dumbing down the story for the readers. VERY WELL DONE! I would recommend this read because I really did fall in love with the pair and The Club was a Club that I was not expecting.

OMG! LOVE! Couldn't put it down. Lauren's style of writing gives this trilogy humor. I can't even count how many times I was laughing out loud by the characters dialgue. I was so entertained with this store. The story followed a path different from what I expected and that made it all the better. I read all 3 from this trilogy back to back to back. I wish there was more from Jonas and Sarah. I could totally relate to some parts of this story. I was fun and exciting and what I consider to be a different style of content from what I am used to reading. The story was extremely adult explicit but still had a comfortable calm to it. It was an awesome read. Can't wait to read more from this author in the future. I'm also excited to know that she is from my home town of San Diego. Woot Woot to Southern California residents!!!

This book immediately grabbed me and pulled me in. I dont want to spoil any detail but this book has suspense, love, angst, desire, frustration...everything you could want . What I didnt want, was for the series to end! I never write reviews (as I'm sure you can tell) but please take a chance on this book. It will touch you in ways that surprise you. The sex scenes are not cookie cutter, they are hot and full of passion. A simple phone call turns into phone sex, seamlessly. Everybody deserves a Jonas :)
