In another year or so I can carry on with yet another generation.. This little mini series offers me a chance to capture the enhusiasm I always felt when I devoured the series. The Alden children have joined with a secret society to search out artifacts that have been lost and stolen and return them from where they were taken. The agent they were to meet in Egypt fails to show up to tell them what their mission is. Clues on a piece of papyrus scroll lead them in the right direction. To deliver an ancient pharaoh statue to the pyramids. It is rare that a series of books can pass the test of time and The Boxcar Children is one of them. The Alden children appeal to the readers. With four of them there is a personality the reader can identify with.. My rating of "The Boxcar Children - The Clue in the Papyrus Scroll" is 4.5 out of 5 stars.
The Clue In The Papyrus Scroll is the second book in the Great Adventures series! After arriving in Egypt, they soon realize that the agent is missing but a puzzle will guide them to the next spot. While taking in the sites and escaping danger once again, the kids are off to Nairobi, Stonehenge and Rome while giving back stolen artifacts and the mystery of why other people are trying to hinder their quest. Wow is all I'm gonna say about this book! I so don't want to give much away about this book but it's the most action filled, mystery riddled book in this series to date! This book covered more ground than the first book in this series and there is still 3 more books to come! The more you get into this story, the more you want to know more about why is the bad guys after the artifacts and if the Boxcar children will succeed in the end! Some people may think this series is boring but to someone like myself who grew up on the Boxcar Kids, it's the most perfect way to get the series more up to date without it being boring. Thank You to Gertrude Chandler Warner for making me fall in more in love with a series that rocked my world as a kid!! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley!
