Walt F.J. Goodridge is from the Caribbean island of Jamaica and holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Columbia University. After seven years working as a civil engineer for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, this frustrated employee walked away from his career to pursue his passion for writing and helping others. His mission: "I share what I know, so that others may grow!"
In addition to identities as the "Hip Hop Entrepreneur author," "the Jamaican in China," and the "Ageless Adept," Walt is known as the "Passion Prophet," author of Turn Your Passion Into Profit and creator of a unique PassionProfit™ Philosophy & Formula.
Using that philosophy and formula, Walt escaped from America to live on the Pacific island of Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), and has written several books about his new home: Saipan Living, Doing Business on Saipan, Chicken Feathers & Garlic Skin, Saipan Now, There's Something About Saipan and others.
He writes freelance articles for the Saipan Tribune, Marianas Variety and Guam Business Journal; conducts writer workshops to help aspiring authors; offers tours of the islands; has been featured in books and documentaries about the region; was recognized by a Senate Resolution for his contributions to CNMI society; and has received three Governor's Humanities Awards for (1) Preservation of CNMI History, (2) Research & Publications in the Humanities, and (3) Outstanding Humanities Teacher.
The Wall Street Journal, Entrepreneur Magazine, Source, Billboard, Time, Black Enterprise, Essence, Ebony, South Africa's SArie Magazine as well as Guerrilla Marketing guru Jay Conrad Levinson, music industry pioneer Chuck D and others have featured, quoted or endorsed his work. Walt currently owns and operates over 50 websites, has written well over two dozen books, 400+ business articles and over 500 of his unique inspirational "life rhymes."
