Overview

The Cold Wait is a Gay Erotica short story - M/M. This erotica short story contains explicit content, erotic situations, graphic language and is suitable for readers 18 and over.

The winter of 1863 was brutal; the cold winds and long nights seemed to last forever. This was especially true for Ryan's regiment in Pennsylvania. The winds blew mercilessly for hours on end. There's no fighting, only long frozen days and even longer nights. It’s hard to fight a war when all you can do is to fight to stay warm. The men do what they can to keep their sanity and to stay alive. They have to rely on each other and on creative ways to stay alive and warm. Ryan finds himself turning to fellow soldier Marsters to keep his bed warm and his body comforted. As much as he tries to stay away, there is something about Marsters that he can’t resist. They have to keep it a secret from everyone but each other. Their secret for survival is too much for either of them to walk away from.

Excerpt
"Is this fire doing you any good?" Marsters asked as he squatted beside the tiny circle of heat. "You look like you're half-frozen."

"I am," Ryan said stiffly, finding it difficult to even move his mouth. His lips hurt, his fingers were numb, and he tried to wiggle his toes but he couldn't say for sure they were moving. "Everybody is. And it's just going to get worse."

"A-yup. But it might be better if you get out of the wind."

"No fire in the tent."

"There are other ways to stay warm," Marsters pointed out. "The fire is one way but not even the best way to chase away the chill."

"What are you talking about?"

"Come inside with me and I'll keep you warm."

Ryan swallowed, gazing at the hypnotic flames, holding his fingers out over the heat. He had once owned a pair of gloves but those were long gone, and there was nothing left to do except scrape together whatever rags he could to tie around his digits. So far, he'd done a fair job of protecting his skin against the weather, but the thin, torn rags wouldn't last forever.

“Did you hear me?"

"I heard you."
