I have read books that needed editing, but this one needs an editor bad! Even Pulitzer winning authors have editors, and this author needs one also. Much of the plot is unrealistic and militarily impossible. Still, if you can overlook the poor editing and below average writing, the unbelievable plot and paper-thin characters, it is a fun read. Basically, it's on the level of the movie Red Dawn.

Good enough plot line, good character development, somewhat disjointed in a couple of places but all in all a good read. This guy desperately needs a good proof reader and maybe an editor as the spelling is terrible and is very distracting.

Like driving a familiar but treacherous road, then when your almost home the whole world turns upside down. Everything you thought was going to happen takes a totally unexpected turn. Where is the sequel?

Hard to read parts of the book because author tried to write in black thug and it didnt work. Too many graffic rapes. Made cops look like dumbest people on earth. They didnt know who were terrorist and who were their fellow cops so they were easily killed. Quit reading after the 4th chapter it was so bad.

I love this genre and can't seem to get enough. Every book like this has a different perspective and more equipment to buy to get ready for the COLLAPSE.

I believe my 12 year old daughter could write better than this author. So many typos and mistakes it makes it a chore to read. The worst sentence structure of any book i have ever read. It really felt as though some high school kid had thrown this together and its not just the horrible writing but the book is pretty boring too. I had to laugh when he tried to write about black people using the most ridiculous slang and descriptions. Save your time and money and pick something else. I do not leave negative reviews on books ive read because i know the authors put a lot of work into them. Even if the talent is not there they at least do a pretty goodjob editing it. Not this guy. Seems he did not even proof read his rough draft, justhit the publish button.

Awesome book, very realistic. This book makes you think of what would happen in a true societal collapse.

The editing is poor but if you can get past that very good book and long 600 + pages

This is honestly my favorite book. Jared Diamond writes in a way that will get you thinking about everything in this world with regards to the environment and history. He explains the consequences of good and bad environmental management. Also, this book stems towards the idea of long term survival in this ever-changing world.
