The College Students Guide to Writing a Great Research Paper: 101 Easy Tips and Tricks to Make Your Work Stand Out, is an ideal book for any and all college students, no matter what their skill level. Erika Eby, a former English Major, who during her freshman year in college experienced the all too common realization that she lacked the proper preparation for college, goes over the prewriting, researching, outlining and drafting stages of the research paper development process. Erika explains how so many students skip many of these writing stages/tools and end up with the typical college student work, which fails to stand out from the rest. She also includes specific questions to ask your professors, so you can be sure to have all the necessary information to write a stand out paper.
The College Student’s Guide To Writing a Great Research Paper by Erika Eby is a great source of reference for students who struggle with writing and getting their words/thoughts down on paper. It appeals to students of all ages and at all levels of college education. It goes in depth with step-by-step directions on how to make writing a paper less stressful and breaks it down into simpler terms. Anyone can write like a professional after reading this informative and helpful book.
This book is a great reference for any student who needs assistance writing that paper, whether you’re a freshman or seeking a Master’s degree. One of the hardest parts about writing a research paper is actually making the words come alive on the pages. Erika Eby gives you step-by-step instructions on how to take the stress out of writing a paper. One of my favorite parts of the book was the “resources for polishing a paper” section. Many people may not know the power of the “find” key in your word processor, but you will after reading this book. A great book to keep around.
This book features a well-balanced set of paper-writing techniques that may appeal to struggling writers. Eby warns students of a lot of common traps, like novice writers attempting to write so formally they lose their intended meaning. It focuses heavily on the importance of getting your words on paper, which most writers agree is the hardest part. It's useful as a guide, but perhaps not necessarily as a bible. Many of the techniques discussed don't work for everyone, but are great things to try for people who need the extra push. Definitely keep this one around as a reference.
