Oh this was fun - these ten short stories with introductions from Harris bring back some great memories and the feel of Bon Temps - that background noise that keeps you edgy and wondering just what is next. From a Christmas 'present' from the fairies to a road trip with Pam, return of Bob the cat and Amelia, a wedding in Sam's family, Tara and the Twins, Bubba the vampire and the always in the background Bill Compton and Eric Northman - the stories bring forward memories and plenty of smiles. Perhaps my favorites of this collection are Two Blondes which follows a road trip into Russel's territory by Sookie and Pam - with plenty of twists and turns. Then was Small Town Wedding, which featured Sam's family and the wedding of his younger brother - and Sookie being his 'girlfriend' for the weekend. This one featured the return of Quinn - in all of his tiger sleek glory to serve as protection and get closure on his relationship with her. Lastly was In the Blue Hereafter - featuring a character that is coming in the Midnight Texas series, Manfred, and his journey guided by his dead grandmother to Bon Temps to meet Sookie and find some answers. Oh the twists and spirits are strong in this collection - and those who have familiarity with the books will instantly recognize most of the people here. I'm so happy to have read this collection - it's added a baker's dozen more titles to my tbr pile for the holidays - and I can't wait to dive into them! I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

I saved this book in my cart, thinking it was the entire series. When I went to get my freebie Friday book and when I purchased it, I got this as well. Sure am sorry I did as I've just started watching the series, am on Season 3 and this is giving away everything, such as finding out Jason married Crystal and became a werepanther and now they're estranged. Sure didn't need a bunch of spoilers. And sure am disappointed to find out none of the books in the series were included. Definitely not worth $11.99. Poor value for the money.

This is a collection of short stories (and one novella), all of which take place in the wonderful world of Sookie Stackhouse. Correction. It is ALL of the Sookie Stackhouse short stories (many previously published in anthologies), including a novella that has never been published before. So, if you are a Sookie nut like me, chances are you’ve read some of these before. And you’ll love them just as much the second time around (or third or fourth or…). What can I say? If you’ve been here for a while, you know how I feel about Charlaine Harris. If she’s published it, I’ve read it. And if you know what a prolific writer she is, you know that’s saying a lot. And Sookie? Sookie is my favorite. She could have written a hundred more Sookie books and I would have read them all. To say I miss the people of Bon Temps is a gross understatement. So, reading these stories was a little like going home and visiting after a long time away. And what a great visit it was! My most interesting takeaway from this book is it changed my feelings about Sookie’s relationship with a particular person. Truthfully, I was never really satisfied with how things ended with the series. It made sense, but it didn’t feel right. Reading the novella changed that for me. It shined a different light on their relationship, put them in a real world scenario, and all of a sudden, it seemed like the most natural thing in the world. It’s disheartening to have one of your favorite series end in a way that doesn’t sit right with you, especially when you’ve dedicated so much time to that world. Having that “offness” righted is beyond satisfying. Honestly, I doubt most people would be reading this book if they weren’t fans. The way they are written, there is a lot that probably wouldn’t make sense if you didn’t know the background stuff. And if you’re a fan, you won’t be disappointed. Classic Sookie with some new insights. For me it was a lovely visit that didn’t last long enough. Now I’m considering rereading the whole series and binge watching True Blood again. In fact, I’m very much looking forward to it! Note: I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley. I pride myself on writing fair and honest reviews.

Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse books were not my favorite short stories and novella to read. I felt a little lost with out the group of stories because I hadn't read the actually books in the series, so it was a little hard to keep track on what was happening. From the first short to last go got a sense of the type of person she was and how Sookie would always help out her friends and fellow citizens of Bon Temps Louisiana and surrounding area. She gets involved with every thing from a schooling shooting to a protest at a friend's brother's wedding to being a stripper and murder suspect while on vacation with her friend Pam and then fighting a ghost are just a few of the situations she ends up in. Her love life consists of dating werewolfs and vampires and having family member who are fairies and a were-panther or a vampire and a young telepath like herself. If you've read the Sookie Stackhouse books then you'll love this group of short stories and a novella that continue her story. I personally am not a fan of books that make it seem like the character is narrating the book instead of the author. I found a couple of the stories funny and a couple others really discussing the state of our world today in a unique and insightful way.

A companion collection of all the short stories that fill in the small gaps between the Southern Vampire series written by Charlaine Harris. Exciting, tantalizing, snippets into some well-known characters and some not so known characters. If you are like me, you can never get enough of an amazing series. The Complete Sookie Stackhouse Stories gives fans just like me some deeper insight into this world.

The Complete Sookie Stackhouse Stories is filled with 10 short stories that give a deeper understanding of some characters from the Sookie Stackhouse series. With stories like "Dracula Night" where Eric Northman becomes a fanboy over a celebrity to "Lucky" when Sookie is asked by a local business man to use her secret powers to uncover what is happening at night in his business. Each of these ten stories have a theme that will delight any fan of Sookie or True Blood fan! I have to admit that I never have gotten around to reading all the books in the Sookie Stackhouse series but watch every episode of True Blood. Reading this book alone is making me want to go back from the beginning to read every single book just to get a better understanding of what happened in the series. My favorite stories in this collection were Dracula Night, Lucky & Playing Possum, y'all are just gonna have to read this book to understand why! Thank You to Charlaine Harris for making me fall in love with this series all over again with this one book!! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley!
