In the final volume in the Sisters Grimm series, Sabrina, Daphne, and the rest of the Grimms and their friends must face off against the Master to decide the fate of Ferryport Landing—and the world. When Mirror fails to escape the barrier using Granny Relda’s body, he turns to his plan B: killing all the Grimms so that the magical barrier collapses. In the meantime, Sabrina has gathered the other magic mirrors as advisors on how to deal with their mortal enemy. They tell her to join forces with the Scarlet Hand against Mirror, in exchange for offering all the citizens of Ferryport Landing their freedom. This final chapter is the end of the road for several beloved characters, but the conclusion is sure to satisfy devoted fans of the series.

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Elizabeth Leis-Newman
In this rousing conclusion to the "Sisters Grimm" series, it is up to Sabrina and sister Daphne to save both their family and the Everafters (fairy tale creatures) of Ferryport Landing. The members of their team, who play a role in both side adventures and planning, range from Goldilocks and Snow White to Gepetto. While chapters tackle everything from their uncle mourning his lost love, Briar Rose, to creating a coven of witches, the main thrust of the story is that it is time to wage a battle against the Master—a mirror who has taken over their grandmother's body—and the evil fairytale members of the Scarlet Hand. Buckley manages to find a balance between writing that's age appropriate for upper elementary grade schoolers but also engaging and quick. Adults will enjoy reading it with or aloud to their children (or students), and will enjoy the appearance of not only the usual suspects but characters like A Midsummer Night Dream's Puck, the Cowardly Lion and Beowolf's Grendel. In the end, Sabrina manages to win over Mirror and free the inhabitants of Ferryport Landing through showing Mirror the power of love. Those who haven't read the previous books in the series will be able to understand the story, but will probably get more out of it if they have followed the Sisters from the beginning. While there have been an increasing number of updated fairy tale books for young readers, this is one of the best, both in terms of the writing and the plot. Parents and teachers will like the positive family values reflected in the story, and both young girls and boys will enjoy the mix of adventure and relationship-building between characters. Recommended for libraries and upper elementary classrooms, and for those who liked the "Harry Potter" series. This is book nine in the "Sisters Grimm" series. Reviewer: Elizabeth Leis-Newman

Gr 4–6—In the final book (Amulet Books, 2012) in Michael Buckley's series, the fate of Ferryport Landing, the Everafters, and the Grimm family are at stake as the Grimms join with former foes and gather a ragtag army of Everafters to face the nefarious Scarlet Hand led by Mirror, the evil looking glass who has taken human form and forcibly occupied the body of the Grimm Sisters' Granny Relda. The Hand, a group of malevolent fairy tale characters, including Prince Charming's brother Atticus, Mayor Heart, and Sheriff Nottingham, is intent on wreaking havoc and gaining freedom from the magical boundary that keeps Everafters imprisoned in Ferryport Landing. Magic mirrors loyal to the Grimms reveal in a prophecy that it is young Sabrina and Daphne Grimm who are destined to save the world from the rogue characters. Despite their friends' lack of confidence, Daphne and Sabrina lead Charming, Puck, Beauty, and the rest of the group into battle. The secret to winning the war will likely be a surprise. Like the finale of Harry Potter, Michael Buckley ends this popular series with a hint of romance and a peek at the future—a glimpse of the much older Daphne and Sabrina Grimm. L. J. Ganser, has been the voice of all nine books. What he lacks in adolescent feminine vocal range, he makes up for with superb diction and the ability to make clear distinctions between the dozens of characters. Overall, a satisfying listen.—Lisa Taylor, Ocean County Library, NJ

I started reading the sisters Grimm when i was eleven years old, and now at sixteen i am just as obsessed with them as i was five years ago. These were the first books that really got me hooked on my favorite hobby: reading. To me most authors that write series end up messing up the last book. With Michael Buckley this is not the case. The Council of Mirrors may just be my favorite book in this series. So thank you so much Mr. Buckley for giving them an awesome finish!

This book is amazing and i highly suggest it to anyone looking for a good book. I read the book for 3 hours STRAIGHT to finish it. This book was perfect in all the right places...there was enough detail but it was not overwhelming, there was action every page, and no swearing. For anyone who loves the other books in the series this is the book for you....and i know we all want to see it become a movie

Dude michael buckely could you please write about allison and emma some more???? The ending seemed like it was waaay too abrupt which is why i give it 4 stars but i really want to learn more about them and what happens to them. And Daphne also gets married so i want to know more about that. Also how did the Murderous Blood Prince end? What happened in that story? I am an advanced reader at my age for reading Eragon,Empress, Pride and Predjudice, To Kill a Mockingbird, and War and Peace. Im 12 yrs old. There just werent enough details at times and that made it kind of annoying at some points. Overall this was a great read so..... YO WHY ARE YOU STILL READING THIS?!?!? GRAB YOUR WALLET AND BUY THIS BOOK! IF YOU HAVENT READ THE PREVIOUS BOOKS IIN THE SERIES RACK UP THE DOUGH AND BUY THE SERIES! STOP WASTING YOUR TIME BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Sister Grimm Book 9 The Council of Mirrors is the best book by far! It is exciting and suspenseful like when Sabrina and Daphne must plan to save the world and when Sabrina is one-on-one with the master at last! It is also a growing-up time for Daphne, Sabrina, and Puck in particular. With Sabrina’s army, Daphne’s coven, and a little help from the Trickster King the Grimms must take a last stand against the master and end the series with a bang! I was sad to see it end but, it was the perfect ending to the perfect book series!

I literally just finished this book, and i have to say, i am VERY impressed. Tragically, many series end in flops, but rhis was a genuinely amazing read. It made me laugh and cry, and the ENDING! Amazing! I have read and loved this series since I was 10, and as sad as i am to see it end, i feel that Mr. Buckley has done an amazing job not only with this book, but all of the bopks in the series. I'll be looking out for any prequels!

I really hated the ending cuz sabrina ended up with someone named bradley...but her kids had the fairy ngs so i think se ended up withpuck. Its a bit unclear cuz shes gettin married to this bradley dude and all of a sudden puck interrupts when the pastor asks if anyone objects to the marriage. Then sixteen years later her older daughter grows pink fairy wings. So i thinkshe ended up with puck. I hope. SABRINA AND PUCK FOREVAH!

For the past two weeks i have been locking myself in my room and reading this books for hours on end. I absolutly love them! I finished this one (the finaly and best of the books) only minutes ago. I cannot get over this story, it has so much twists and turns and so ,any fabulous charaters! You get so drown into the story line that you will jump up and curse when someone gets killed. Or say out loud "I knew it!" or just "Dont do it!" When i found out there werr only nine books when i was already on the seventh I was heartbroken! Like i said before i couldnt put them down. I was almost yelled at in class because i was torn from reality while reading one of these. I recamand these to all ages and i garrenty you wont regret reading them. The twists and backrounds behind the charaters are amazing. You will see someone who you never thouht would be soft hive there heart away. You will be sad because someone you considered a friend and a huge part of the story betrays the charaters or dies. If i vould go back to when there books were writen i would send the auther an email and tell them to write more and more books because i was so sad when i close the book ( turned off my nook) when i had read the last page in the last book. Read them! You will not be disapointed!

Sabrina mets Bradly and is going to marry him, and spacificly in the book it says " Are all of the Everafters wearing there discises, you know Bradly isn't to comfertibule with the fact yet!!" (Im sorry if thats not exactly what Sabrina said but its pretty close!!!) Puck come when there about to say "I Do" and well yeah... there you go and if you want more proof then just re-read the end of the book!!! END OF SPOILER!!! And just to make this worth wile i will say, this book was very VERY good worth the money, still hasn't disapointed me!!!
