Overview

In The Courage of Your Faith, twelve short stories from our Baptist history set the stage for the study of issues as relevant today as they were then. You will be challenged and you will be surprised by what stands our forefathers took and by the impact they had. They often were the source and catalyst of social conflagration. Looking at Baptist History in this way teaches us something of what it means to be a Christ follower and the role Christians had in making the world what is today. These stories are part of a Bible Study series of the same name. The studies and supporting documentation, pictures, and web links are available at

Below are the time periods, the story settings, and some of the study issues. The issues may not be directly addressed in the narratives.

About the Author

As a 40 year member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Windsor, Colorado, Tom served as deacon, teacher, worship leader, and active layman with other believers from a variety of backgrounds. Few, if any of the members, knew much of Baptist history. When a pastor spoke at Cornerstone and emphasized the rowdy nature of Baptists throughout history and the impact they had on our country, Tom took it upon himself to research what had been shared. This series of short stories and its related Bible study is the result of over 10 years of research—both part and full-time.

He has also written a novel, First Fury, based on the historical accounts of Rebecca Ann Johnson. This work is also available as an eBook.

Computer programming is form of creativity related to writing and is the way Tom earned a living for over 35 years. His software for authors, Story Planner Tools, is also available online.

He continues to live in Windsor, Colorado, with is his wife and best friend Sandy.
