Derek Chandler used to be all play and no work, but these days he has a rodeo to run and a chip on his shoulder. He's made some mistakes in the past, and, in a family that prizes loyalty above all else, it's time to prove that he's a part of the team.
Angela McCallister is a reporter on a mission. She's looking for the scoop of her career to replenish her savings and get her troubled father the help he desperately needs. But the story seems to have run dry, and her plans certainly didn't include falling in love with a sexy, brooding cowboy who calls her Angel.
They must learn to trust one another. It's hard for Angela to be her usual, guarded self around the close-knit family at the Findley Brothers ranch, and although Derek suspects his Angel is hunting for a story that could destroy his family, he can't keep his hands off of her. Their connection is instant, but will the Cowboy and his Angel allow themselves to give in to passion?

About the Author
T. J. Kline was bitten by the horse bug early and began training horses at fourteen—as well as competing in rodeos and winning several rodeo queen competitions—but has always known writing was her first love. She also writes under the name Tina Klinesmith. In her spare time, she can be found spending as many hours as possible laughing hysterically with her husband, teens, and their menagerie of pets in Northern California. That is, when she isn't running around the California Gold Country researching new stories.

Angela thinks she has found a story that will get her career to take off and help her father. His drinking has caused problems all her life and wiped out her money. She goes to the Findley Brothers ranch to get a look see at what really goes on behind the scenes and how the animals are really treated. While she goes in with one set one mind she soon sees these people are nothing like what she thought. Especially cowboy Derek Chandler. Derek isn't looking for romance and the woman who has come to do a story is definitely on his don't touch list. He has some stuff to make up for and she isn't helping him stay on track. While they may seem like total opposites they can't deny they have feelings for each other and can't keep their hands off each other. Someone doesn't want these two to find happiness and will do anything to keep them from being together. Angela has huge walls built around her. She had a bad childhood and it has marked her. She doesn't trust people and she doesn't let people in. She will do anything she can to help her father. She isn't one who gives up easy. Derek has made a few mistakes in his past and is trying to make them up. he wants to do anything he can to help the family business. He is a very hard worker who cares for his family and his animals. He wants what his family has found and that is someone special to share his life with. I love a rodeo and this story gives you a glimpse of what life on the inside is like. I enjoyed all the characters but one. Joe I hated and wanted to see get stomped on by a bull but when you read it you will see why. Angela and Derek have a spark between them as soon as they meet. They don't trust each other and have to learn to do so. Angela learns what the rodeo is really like and learns it is ok to let people in. I loved seeing her come around and loosen up. She has a few socks she has to deal with as well. Derek is awesome he jumps in to help with her father and really his whole family does. I loved reading about all of them. There is heat, love, family, twist and turns to make this a fascinating book to read. If you love a hot cowboy you will definitely love this one.
