Love's worth more than being right.

When single mother Leda Plett - who's doing just fine on her own, thank you very much – goes next door to retrieve her wandering pooch, she doesn't expect to find the neighbor's handsome brother lounging about like he owns the place. She certainly doesn't expect him to go after the deadbeat who abandoned her. She's not looking for a know-it-all white knight with long, lean muscles and a sexy smile. He's hot, but she's already been burned.

Rodeo-star turned agent Eric Anders is used to managing people, especially irresponsible males, and he can't stand it that some jerk has left Leda high and dry. Clearly, the boots-and-sundress wearing mouthy mama needs someone on her side. He could change her life, if only she would let him. And it has nothing to do with the fact that her sparkly exterior hides a spirit that is as sweet as it is strong – and irresistible.

In fact, Leda is more mature than her years. She feels the weight of her mistakes, and wants only to make sure her daughter doesn't suffer for them. Eric's hot gaze makes her weak in the knees but Leda's track record with men is as bad as it is short. Can she trust the cowboy next door?

When Eric's well-intentioned actions inadvertently reveal a shameful secret from Leda's past, he realizes she never needed him at all. As he watches her rise above the humiliation, he knows he must find a way to make it up to her, or risk losing the one girl he now can't live without.

About the Author

Born under a Scorpio moon, raised in a little house on the prairie, USA Today Bestselling Author Roxanne Snopek said “as you wish” to her Alpha Farm Boy and followed him to the mountain air and ocean breezes of British Columbia. There, while healing creatures great and small and raising three warrior-princesses, they found their real-life happily-ever-after. Eric Anders is working on renovating his brother Chad’s farm. When Leda walks in looking for Austin and Melinda’s dog, he shows interest. She is spunky and beautiful. When Chad mentions she has a child, Eric doesn’t even care. The more Eric gets to know Leda, the more he falls for her. This is book #3 in the This Old House series. This was a fun read and made me laugh out loud with the odd ball words Leda would use.

Reviewed by JJ Phillips for Readers' Favorite The Cowboy Next Door (This Old House Book 3) by Roxanne Snopek is a contemporary romance that brings dogs and babies into a charming story. Eric is a ex-rodeo star and sports agent who just wants to head home to Montana to relax for some peace and quiet. But the single mom next door has a different idea. Leda has no need for men in her life, thank you very much. She has a baby girl to raise and doesn't need another man muddling it up. Even an attractive man like Eric who makes her weak at the knees. Eric wants to be a knight in shining armor to Leda's damsel in distress, but first he has to get her to quit being so stubborn. If only Leda could quit looking back at the past and start staring at the future standing right in front of her... The Cowboy Next Door is a sweet romance that pits two different styles of characters against each other and tries to bring them together so they can both have happiness. I liked Eric's character and his happy go lucky attitude. He thought he wanted peace and quiet, but it turns out what he really wanted was the sassy, mouthy Leda. Roxanne Snopek did a nice job of showing us that a person (or character) never really knows what they want. Leda thought that she was done with men, but again, she didn't realize that not all men are pigs and the right man is worth fighting for.

A sweet heartfelt romance. Leda Platt is a young single mom just trying to get by and do the best for her daughter when she meets her new neighbor Eric Andrews. Eric is a former rodeo star with plans on fixing up the ranch house him and his brother inherited. It wasn’t love at their first meeting. In fact, Leda doesn’t want a man after what happened in her last relationship. But Eric is different. As they get to know each other better, they learn they can be good for each other. How will Eric finally get Leda to accept him for the man he is? He’s not like the men in Leda’s past. This was a really sweet well written story.
