The Cowboy's Christmas Bride by Laurie LeClair

Rising country music star Cassidy James McCall is living her own version of a bad country song. After undergoing vocal chord surgery, her future is uncertain. To escape the constant presence of tabloid reporters, she accepts an invitation to celebrate Christmas with her McCall cousins. But her idea of a quiet and peaceful holiday comes to a screeching halt the moment she crashes into her former boyfriend, the tough yet noble cowboy that she's never gotten over.

Widowed, single father and ex-rodeo bull rider, Ryder Hadley, longs to raise his precious little girl in his safe, secure small hometown of Honor, Texas while bringing his ranch back to life. It's a simple wish that goes haywire when the mega country sensation and the woman who stole his heart years ago gallops back in to town, igniting a firestorm of emotions in her wake.

As Ryder tries to protect his heart from falling once again under Cassidy's spell, he soon learns he's not the only one who can't resist her–his daughter wants Cassidy as a bride for her daddy. With the help of some Christmas magic, will Ryder and Cassidy get the second chance that they've always wanted?

A heartfelt second chance love story that churned up all the feels yet left me smiling. There's so much love, loyalty, and sincere caring fit into the story that, like often in a real life, is balanced with the betrayal, fraud, and disappointments. The chemistry and bond between Cassidy James McCall and Ryder Hadley are amazing. The feelings between them are so tangible, like a visible, additional character in the book. This palpable connection between them is managed to present even though most of the time they spent together is used to fight against the awakening old, burning feelings, or with the whole town and paparazzi around them. I wish they would have had more time to get to know each other again, after the years they have spent apart. That was the only (big) thing that kept me from giving this book a five spoon recommendation. Because when you add to this sizzling attraction a little adorable cowboy princess, a large, loving, and protective family, a tight-knit town preparing to celebrate Christmas, and you have the makings of a holiday romance that will melt your heart and make you smile - after dragging you through the emotional wringer. A charming, delightful, and a clean Christmas story that surely will bring up the holiday spirit. ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

I love to read books about Christmas, even when it is not anywhere close to Christmas time. This is one of those books that I will be reading and reading time and time again. There is just something about it that drew me in. Yes it is a romance and yes it is a book based around the holiday season but there is also laughter and just a plain good second chance romance from the heart. There is something about second chance love stories that are extra special and if they include children... all the better. I received an advanced copy of this book but it did not have anything to do with how I liked or didn't like this story at all. Any story with a pet horse named Sweet Potato in it has to be good to read right? Well, Gramps has a pet horse, No Lie and she goes everywhere with him. She is a miniature horse but a horse nonetheless. Cassidy ,Molly and Ryder have a wonderful story to tell. I hope you enjoy it like I did.

The Cowboy's Christmas Bride (The McCall Brothers Book 4) by Laurie LeClair This is Cassidy James McCall and Ryder Hadley's story. Cassidy is going through a lot of difficult situations and is back in town to get away from everything and to have Christmas with her cousins. She is worried about seeing Ryder again since she had pushed him away years ago to pursue her music career. They way they got reacquainted was priceless. It was so funny. This is a sweet and heartfelt romance. If Molly, Ryder's daughter, have anything to do with it Cassidy and Ryder will get back together. But they have a lot to work through since she hurt him years ago. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Cassidy is recovering from vocal chord surgery and decides to spend Christmas with her cousins while she recuperates. Little did she know she'd also be spending time with her ex, Ryder. Ryder is widowed an wants nothing more than to raise his little girl in the small town as he works to revive his ranch. When Ryder and Cassidy reunite, is it too much to hope for an everlasting love? This is one of those books that sucks you in and gives you all the good-feels, makes you want to live in that small town, and be a part of this family. I really enjoyed this book, and I highly recommend it.

I loved this story. It's a great second chance story with a rugged cowboy who's a single father and a country music star who is dealing with some tough issues that could put her future in music at risk. Cassidy and Ryder have a history and Ryder knows that he has to be careful or he'll be back under Cassidy's spell and she'll break his heart all over again but his daughter is a big fan so spending time with Cassidy is inevitable. This is a great story as Ryder and Cassidy work through the past while trying to figure out what the future holds. Definitely a recommended read.

This is the first book I read by Ms LeClair, and it certainly won’t be the last. I truly loved it. The story centers around Cassidy James McCall. A young woman that left the love of her life, in order to pursue a career as a country singer. When she was reaching the stars, life threw her more than one curveball and now she is back home in Honor, TX, hoping to recover her voice and self-worth. Literally by accident, she crashes into Ryder Hadley . The man she let go and left behind. He is now a widower with a young child that idolizes Cassidy. Feelings are still there for both, but neither wants to have his daughter hurt, nor do they want to go through the pain of letting go once again. While the plot, the main characters as well as the secondary characters, were well developed, what I liked best was the underlying message. It’s a story reminding us that when we are down, someone is there to help us. That love and family are what’s really important and that with a little faith in us , God and others, life should be lived and treasured. A lovely reminder not only during the holiday season, but all year long. I was gifted this book by Tule Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
