About the Author

Award-winning author Nancy Robards Thompson lives and writes in Central Florida, but her imagination transports her all over the world. She's worked myriad jobs including television show stand-in; production and extras casting for movies; and several mind-numbing jobs in the fashion industry and public relations. She earned a degree in journalism only to realize reporting "just the facts" bored her silly. Much more content to report to her muse, Nancy has found Nirvana doing what she loves most-writing women's fiction full-time. After hanging up her press pass, this two-time nominee for the Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart struck gold in July 2002 when she won the award. Since then, critics have deemed her books "...funny, smart and observant."

Loved this story! It's funny(getting caught trying to get into her friend's house by the bathroom window) and sweet and just the story that you enjoy on a cold winter's night. Of course, cowboys are my favorite anyway, so it's a win-win situation for me. Thoroughly enjoyable and can't wait to read what's next.

This was such a fun read! When her ex-fiance decides to sell her out to the paparazzi, Lady Chelsea Ashford Alden decides that it's time to drop off the radar and goes to the one person who only cared about Chelsea, her best friend, Juliette. Unfortunately, Juliette forgot to leave a key on the way out of town, so Chelsea finds her own way in. Ethan Campbell is just doing his neighborly duty when he get suspicious of activity at his neighbor's home. He is more than a little surprised to find not a burglar, but beautiful Chelsea in the bathtub. They sort things out, but sparks are definitely flying. Determined to lay low, and not give the paparazzi any chance of finding her, Chelsea reverts to the "common" name she used in college to go incognito. As Chelsea spends more time in Celebration, she finds herself feeling more at home than anywhere else. She also gets more involved with Ethan, but realizes her secret could ruin any chance of a future. This story was full of characters that made you root for them. From Chelsea, who was trying to find the place and direction that she felt happy in her life, to Ethan who was scared to really enjoy life, to his sister Lucy, who was also trying to find her direction, and Juliette, who brought them all together. Chelsea charmed me instantly, and I laughed out loud when Ethan first encountered her. The story was well-written and moved at a quick pace. I have enjoyed many of Nancy Robards Thompson's other stories, and I really enjoyed this one. It is part of a series based in the same town, but this is the first I have read of these, and it stands alone.

This was a great story. Chelsea is at the end of the line for the throne in England, however her ex has caused her to be looked upon as scandalous, so she goes to Celebration, TX to hide out with her college friend. Ethan is just looking out for his neighbor when he confronts Chelsea, thinking she is a burgler. Chelsea then hides her true identity from Ethan because she isn't sure who to trust when the tabloids are out to get her. They are from two very different worlds, but they really complimented each other well. I loved Chelsea and how down to earth she was. Ethan was a bit tougher to connect with, but the tough guy did let his softer side show. I loved everything about this story. The characters, the setting, it was all wonderful.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book and am providing a fair and honest review. Nancy Robards Thompson has combined two of my favorite types of characters by combining a British royal and a hot cowboy. Lady Chelsea Ashford Alden has left England to hide from tabloid reporters after her ex-boyfriend sold a sex tape he secretly made of the two of them. She goes to stay with her best friend in Celebration, Texas but her friend forgot to leave the key. Ethan Campbell is keeping an eye on his neighbor's property when he sees someone climbing through the window. Instead of a burglar, he catches Chelsea. From the moment they meet, the sparks are flying but Ethan is still cautious and Chelsea is keeping secrets. They both must overcome their pasts in order to have a future. This is an extremely well-written story filled with love, laughs and a few tears.

The Cowboy’s Runaway Bride by Nancy Robards Thompson was a wonderful read that I will certainly read over and over again. The small town setting, the diverse characters, and the chemistry between the main characters, make this book a must-read. Lady Chelsea Ashford Alden is on the run from the paparazzi after her boyfriend set out to ruin her. Her well to do family wants nothing to do with her until she cleans up her mess, which is why she is hiding out in Celebration, Texas. Her best friend from college offered her a place to stay until things die down. While there, she meets Ethan Campbell, who is a rancher and intrigues her. Their first interactions with each other is actually pretty funny and from there, their story starts. Ethan wants Chelsea but he put love behind him. Will Chelsea be the one to show him how to love again or will her secret ruin everything, when it comes to light? This story is well-written with beautiful descriptions and smart characters. For those readers who love romance, this should be your next read!

4 1/2 STARS! A sweet opposites attract story with a sexy cowboy and a touch of royalty! A group of fun characters set the stage for a growing romance as the rancher meets the secret royal and falls head over heels! On the run from a British tabloid scandal thanks to her ex and one particularly nosy reporter, Lady Chelsea Ashford Alden escapes the country and heads to visit her best friend since college in Celebration, Texas. She needs to remain under the radar so she doesn't bring the rabid reporters to this cozy little town, so she hides her true identity from the locals. Rancher Ethan Campbell is a good guy and watching over his neighbors house when he knows she's out of town, so imagine his surprise when he finds Chelsea in the bathtub when he goes to investigate someone being in what should be an empty house! Once the mistake is taken care of, Ethan can't help appreciating the beauty of the visitor to his little town! When sparks fly each time they are together, Chelsea and Ethan give in and let their emotions lead them into exploring what they are feeling. Will the fact that he still doesn't know her secret identity come back to bite her when all is said and done?
