The Cowboy's Socialite by Carmen Falcone

"Funny, heartwarming and sexy, Falcone blazes into the western romance world with a sure hit." ~ NYT Bestselling Author Cynthia D'Alba

Winning the bet should be easy. Keeping their hands off each other is a lot harder…

After losing everything, socialite Lola St. James moves to Texas to convert her only possession, Red Oak Ranch, into a luxury bed and breakfast. After all it can't be that hard to trade in a pair of stilettos for cowboy boots.

Jack Canyon, her estranged husband and co-owner of the ranch, vows to stop her from turning his home into Barbie's country hotel. He knows her promises are meaningless, and he needs the land's mineral rights to expand his business. He bets everything she won't last a week as a cowgirl. She agrees—if he'll turn over his half of the land. No problem.

Except now they're forced to live together. New flames reignite until Lola and Jack can't deny the red hot sexual tension between them. But when old betrayals resurrect, Lola must choose between running away or staying in Jack's arms…

The Cowboy’s Socialite by Carmen Falcone was a wonderful story about second chances. I so enjoy reading a book about estranged marriages and this one definitely did not disappoint. Jack and Lola find themselves jointly owning a ranch but both have differing opinions on how to run it. Old feelings are hard to put aside and Ms. Falcone does a tremendous job reuniting these two characters. I love reading Ms. Falcone and I highly recommend reading The Cowboy’s Socialite.

The Cowboy's Socialite by Carmen Falcone is a cowboy romance book that will leave you engaged until the end. This story is about second chances and starting over. This is my first book by this author and it won't be the last. I enjoyed her writing style that kept me engaged until the end and also how she pulled me in from the first word. I also enjoyed how creative she was with her characters. They were not just the typical hot, steamy characters. They showed compassion and passionate in what they believe in. These characters will take you on a roller coaster ride that you won't want to miss. You will enjoy these characters as they pop off the page, they are true to life and will just plain pull you into their ranch world. Find out what happens to these characters as they are faced with starting over and getting second chances. Lola St. James has lost everything but the only possession she has in Texas. She decides to make a change and move to Texas and change the ranch into a bed and breakfast. Will it really be all that hard for her to trade her heels in for cowboy boots? When she realizes that she may have gotten herself into more then expected what will she do? She is determined to do this but there is one person standing in her way. Jack Canyon is co-owner of the ranch with his estranged wife. When she moves back to the ranch and is determined to change it into a bed and breakfast, he is determined to stop her. He needs the lands mineral rights to expand his business but he knows that her promises are empty. When he bets her that she won't last a week as a cowgirl, what will she do? If he loses, he will turn his half of the ranch to her. But will he lose? Lola and Jack's relationship has been estranged for quite awhile but when they are forced to live with each other, what will they do? There is no doubt, sexual tension between them but when they give in, wow! What will happen when Lola's past pops up, will she run or will she stay in his arms? One thing that I really enjoyed about these characters is their determination in getting what they want. They both want the ranch and they both want each other, will they get what they want? These characters are snappy, witty and will show you various emotions. There is so much more to Lola that I don't think we get to even hear all of it. You will feel compassion for her for what she went through to get where she is at. She is very compassionate about the ranch as it was her fathers. This story wasn't exactly what I thought before I started reading it. I was expecting a western but what I got was a modern day western with hot, steamy romance which is even better. I enjoyed the plot and how these characters grew throughout the story. Find out what happens with Lola and Jack. Will they ever find their HEA? Is there a second chance in their future? What will fate have in store for them? This is my first story by Carmen Falcone and I know it won't be the last. I will be reading more of her books for sure. Carmen loves to spend her time writing about alpha males and hot, steamy heroines that are sassy and witty who turn their worlds upside down. When she is not writing, she enjoys spending time with her children and their pugs. This is a fast paced story that you will have a hard time putting down. It will keep you engaged until the very last page. You don't want to miss the twists and turns that the author has weaved into this story. I highly recomm

I like a good second chance romance. Lola and Jack had a whirlwind marriage and then with a tragedy it was over. Now Lola is at rock bottom and has come back to Red Oak Ranch to start new, but it means seeing her ex. Things are going to get very interesting when this city girl and cowboy share the ranch house. Jack thought he was going to get the future he always dreamed with Lola, but that went up in flames. Now being forced to to co habitat with Lola those feelings come roaring back to life. I thought Jack and Lola had great chemistry. I was rooting for them the whole time because they should have their HEA. I loved the epilogue. It was the perfect way to end this story ith because it's so Lola and Jack.

Lola and Jack story was an amazing afternoon read for me. I love all the sexual tension that is in this book. Both of them don't want anything to do with the other person, they our both stubborn, hard headed people who don't even realize that they our meant to be together. All Lola wants is for her ex husband Jack is to leave her half of the ranch and let her open up her B&B. And Jack isn't giving in. The ranch is the only place he ever called home and he not going to let another one of her plans that she will never follow through on ruin everything he work so hard for. However, density has other plans for these two, and it not always about what you want. Sometimes it all about following ones heart and opening up and giving in a little. Love this book and I know you will too. Happy reading!

Second chance love stories are always full of angst ;) Seeing how Jack & Lola work through their issues is fun....stressful & overall a great time! You really start to root for the HEA! This is a wonderful summer beach read that will make the hot sun just a tad bit hotter! I love how Ms Falcone is growing and spreading her wings with a new genre!

When they married, years ago, neither Jack nor Lola were ready for marriage's trials and tribulations. He was building his business; while she was spending her father's money, socializing and partying. Her father died with debts, leaving both Jack & Lola his property. The physical attraction is still there and they're learning to like each other... Engaging western romance, with must enough sexual sizzle! Enjoyed Jack and Lola's story Would like to read more about Earl, London and Margo. Voluntarily read an ARC for an honest review.

Loved this book! It's a great second chance story filled with snarky banter, secrets, fears, and romance. Jack and Lola may be estranged but the chemistry between the two is still off the charts. If they could both put their egos aside they could have it all. With the Red Oak Ranch on the line these two will have you laughing and swooning as they battle it out. I highly recommend this one.

This is the authors first entry into the Cowboy genre, and I can't wait for her to get back in the saddle again. This story was filled with snarky humor, stubbornness, untold truths everywhere, fear of loving and finally eyes wide open and of course the authors famous sexy, sensual scenes. All in all, I believe this was a wonderful and sweet, but not syrupy sweet, very believable, cowboy versus socialite romance. Read about a beautiful woman with commitment problems and a cowboy who doesn't want to forgive, both unwilling to admit their true feelings. As you can see I don't do spoilers, but I highly recommend this story to all those who love a good romance with a sexy cowboy thrown in and of course a horse or two.

A true second chance romance that tugs on the heartstrings! Right from the start you can feel the love between Jack and Lola. The issues Jack and Lola have is written realistically and with loads of heart. It was easy to relate to these characters and root for their happily ever after. A really great story!!

I'm a sucker for second chance romances and this one fills the void. I'm rounding up from a 4.5 stars because their was a head scratcher part for me, but it doesn't really effect the storyline, just me. Lola needs to find herself, to find her confidence and know that she can be independent from daddy's money. Convincing her soon to be ex husband that she can be is a challenge. On the road to gaining her independence though is she losing it back to Jack? And does it matter? The story is one of character building, putting aside past hurts and stubbornness and opening your eyes to the here and now. It left me a little emotional at the end , in a good way. The ride there is enjoyable.

Lola St. James couldn’t make it in LA, but making it in Hope Springs, Texas, would be a cinch. At least, she could wear cute designer boots while converting the ranch her father left her into a bed and breakfast. What she hadn’t anticipated was running into a bull and then her ex-husband, Jack Canyon. Lola inherited Red Oak Ranch from her father, but what she didn’t know is that he left half of it to Jack. Who now lives there! Jack offers Lola to buy her share, but she won’t have it; for once in her life, she will start something and finish it. But how in the world is she ever going to live with Jack? THE COWBOY’S SOCIALITE was not exactly what I expected. While Carmen Falcone’s colourful turns of phrases, dynamic pacing, crazy shenanigans, snappy dialogues, and customary wit are all there, but Ms. Falcone also shows us a more serious side, and tears will flow. THE COWBOY’S SOCIALITE has much more depth than the blurb let on, and the characters are richly developed, with solid backstories. Lola is so much more than her glittery persona, and Ms. Falcone expertly conveys the heartbreak Lola suffered, and how hard she tried to succeed in life. The intense chemistry between Jack and Lola is palpable from the onset, and I was pleasantly surprised at how their relationship evolved, how they dealt with their attraction, as well as the bitterness and regrets that had remained after their short marriage. No one writes realistic zaniness like Carmen Falcone, and the author demonstrates with THE COWBOY SOCIALITE that she is also able to do serious with the same flair and passion. Like her characters, Carmen Falcone continues to grow and to establish herself as one of the most creative and original voices in contemporary romance. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

She's high maintenance. He's country strong and cowboy ready. The Cowboy's Socialite is a battle of the sexes that is scorching. One ranch and two owners turns into a reunion that is as love - hate as it is tempting fun. Forced to face an unfinished past these two exes learn some serious truths about themselves and each other as they reignite a passion they both thought had fizzled out. Have the smoke alarms ready because Jack and Lola make this read a fire hazard.
