About the Author
As a class assignment in seventh grade, Karen wrote an autobiography, which she still possesses today. The last line reads, "When I grow up, I want to be an English teacher," and that is exactly what she did. She has written articles for The Sixties in America and The Seventies in America, published by Salem Press, but The Crab Hollow Chronicles is her first foray into full-length fiction writing. Now retired, Karen is a member of the 75-voice South Hills Chorale. She lives in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, with her husband Frank and travels to Houston and San Jose to visit her two children and three grandchildren.

The book hooked me with the very first sentence. It took me back to the less stressful time of my childhood and reminded me of all the sayings/ fun things that we enjoyed with the neighborhood kids. What a great easy reading, relaxing way to start the summer. I would recommend this book to "kids" of all ages. It will either bring back great memories or give you a look at what it was like to grow up in a less stressful time. My congrats to Karen on her first book. I look forward to reading her next book.
