About the Author

Carole P. Roman is the award-winning author of the Captain No Beard series. Bonnie Lemaire began her career as a freelance illustrator with her first promotional postcard in 1989. She graduated from Ontario College of Art's communication and design program in 1992 and took a position as artist/designer with Ganz and Brothers Canada. It was a valuable experience, catapulting her into a successful freelance career where she applied all her experience, hard work and versatility into a variety of new directions.

Bonnie's eternal optimism is the foundation of every drawing. Flowing from her pencils and tips of her brushes into her creative and eye-catching pieces, comical and curious creatures dance on the page. Children's book illustration is her passion.
