Overview

The Crock-Pot Ladies Big Book of Slow Cooker Dinners is a lifetime of delicious dinner ideas that are as easy to make as they are flavorful.

The Crock-Pot Ladies walk the walk of raising busy families and feeding them well. Meet Heidi, Katie, and Sarah, three awesome cooks who preside over households that together include ten children along with a variety of husbands, grandchildren, and other relatives—all while they maintain super-busy work-at-home schedules that fill most of each day.

The hundreds of thousands of readers of their wildly popular website, Crock-Pot Ladies, rely on them for nutritious and tasty recipes that deliver variety over monotony, comfort over pretense, and, above all, quick prep work over laboriously fancy productions.

In this book, their first, featuring 275 recipes—over half of which are brand new and not available on their website—the Crock-Pot Ladies use easy-to-shop-for, available-anywhere ingredients to build terrific soups and stews, dips and spreads, sides and casseroles, and, especially, protein-packed main courses for big appetites. Experts at cooking for the freezer, the Ladies serve up 25 freezer meal plans, covering 5-, 7-, and 10-day plans, that use the many freezer-friendly recipes in the book.

Nobody knows Crock-Pots and other slow cookers like the Crock-Pot Ladies, and The Crock-Pot Ladies Big Book of Slow Cooker Dinners is chock-full of tips and tricks that show you how to get the most from any model or size of slow cooker. This is a book you can rely on, day in and day out, weekdays and weekends, for fabulous dinners that don't demand time that you don't have.

This is a fantastic book! So many recipes that you'll never get bored. And all of them are doable with regular old groceries that pretty much everyone keeps around the house. The photos are mouthwatering, and the variety of dishes is amazing. This isn't gourmet cooking; it's rib sticking, delicious food that makes families happy. That being said, I'd be happy to prepare any of these dishes for company, for example, the Italian Beef Stew with Red Wine or the Maple Smokehouse Chicken, or, really, any of these fantastic meals. My crockpot has been getting a real workout with this book. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I could tell this cookbook is very well thought out -- it's so organized. Not everyone knows how to use a slow-cooker (crock-pot) and now that the InstantPot craze is upon us, people who didn't own a pressure cooker or crock-pot now have wonderful recipes to choose from with no fear of cooking too long or not long enough. I particuularly liked all the information at the beginning of the book, again helping those who haven't used a crock-pot before. Starting with an appetizer section you have a choice of ten different sections, ending with sauces, the accessory of good food. Food was beautifully photographed enticing me to try certain recipes. Last nice thing I liked about how it is organized is how the meats are divided out. Some people only eat poultry, while others may particularly like beef, but avoid pork and lamb. The authors have made it easy to not have to thumb through a meat section to get the kind of meat they prefer.

Great cookbook. I enjoyed many of the recipes. I liked that there was a section on vegetable main dishes for the crockpot. I prefer cookbooks to include nutritional information. This cookbook did not include nutritional information. I received this galley from NetGalley.

This book is comfort food in a slow cooker. Most ingredients you could probably find in a well stocked pantry. Amazing poultry and beef recipes! There's even wild game and more than usual lamb recipes. The tips are fabulous. For the amount of recipes there were, there weren't nearly enough pictures.
