Martin Lipton is a retired physician, lives in Westchester County, NY, and is married to Fernande, a professional artist and sculptress, and former volunteer/ trainer for The Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Fernande was born in Shanghai, China of Russian and French parents during some of the most tense political years of the 20th century. Lipton’s current novel is his eleventh book; two of which have been turned into screen plays. The Crumbling Great Wall is a work of historical fi ction, and depicts the travails and struggles of Fernande’s family as they endured World War II, living in China under the watchful eyes of an occupying Japanese Army.
