I loved this book! The story kept me interested and every time I thought I had it figured out, it twisted again. The characters are great with just enough flaws to keep them interesting.

Larissa Reinhart is back with a brand new series, and it definitely looks like this will be a great one!!! The description for the synopsis is spot on. It’s sexy, sassy, and southern suspense at its best. Reinhart has a way of creating unique and quirky characters, and Lex and Finley are no exception as are all the secondary characters. I live not too far from Atlanta, so I really liked the setting being in Atlanta and the surrounding areas. It’s always fun to know you have been to some of the locations in a least for me. This was a great combination of romance and mystery. I loved the element of the “con” and add in the themes of trust, faith, and redemption and you have yourself a great little story. I’m looking forward to reading my next Larissa Reinhart novel.

Hang on to your hat and purse and seat as this is a wild ride. As exciting and fast paced as this long con is for the first half of the book, at almost exactly 50% the game plan changes! Finley Goodhart can not stay on script. At first, Finley, a small time hustler, is shocked and saddened to learn that her once best friend, a woman she has neglected recently, drifted away from, is dead. By overdose. Except that Fin knows for certain it was murder. That is something Finley can not accept or stay away from. The man who brings her this news is Fin's off and on love, the super sexy and always one step ahead, Lex. Even though they are not a "couple," Fin and Lex are partners. There is no room in her life for love or trust. Although, at some point everyone must trust someone, even temporarily. If you are a fan of the television show Leverage, this is similar but on a much grander scale. Occasionally the Leverage crew would have to take on organized crime, but Fin is taking on an octopus of organized crime. So tangled together and each arm distrusting of the others that it seems impossible to figure out. Fin must be satisfied just to shut their con down. Using multiple personalities and never staying in one place more than a few hours, Fin Goodhart is a woman with a mission. You'll fall for her even as you fear for her life - over and over. The mysterious Lex and Dot have appealing qualities as well. This is a dangerous mystery with many layers. I can not wait for the next adventure.

"The hardest lessons came from trusting people who lied for a living." And what do grifters like Finley Goodheart and her sidekick Lex do? They lie for a living... When one of Finley’s oldest friends dies, the story around the whys and hows of it just don’t add up. Finley sets her sights on avenging Penny’s death in order for another one not to happen. It means infiltrating an expensive matchmaking service. With Fin’s shaky history, the question becomes can she get in? Another one is can she trust anyone out there involved in this including Lex. Set in Atlanta and the surrounds, Reinhart once again makes us part of those watching what at first seems an unbelievable storyline. However, her innate intelligence shines even in the worst of circumstances and proves her unwavering loyalty to those she loves. I was one of those privileged to have read “Pig n’ a Poke” and felt these characters needed a larger story and Larissa Reinhart proves she listens. Highly recommended.5/5 [disclaimer: I received this book as a gift from the author and voluntarily reviewed it]

Disclaimer: I received an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review. Larissa Reinhart has created an absolutely wonderful bunch of new characters in Finley Goodhart's first book. Finley, the product of a corrupt county sheriff and a deceased mother, has been running from her father for years. The only way to sustain herself with no training is to be on the con. Her favorite con is as a pool shark. However, when she meets her friend Penny, she is taught many different ways to con. Along the way she meets her one love, a British con man, Lex Leopold. When Penny winds up dead from an apparent overdose, Finley knows that is not the truth and sets out to find out what really happened. Finley searches Penny's apartment where she finds marks hidden along with some of Penny's money. She meets Penny's fiancee', Mark Davis, while dressed as another person. Finley and Lex are taken into the underground of Atlanta where there appears to be four different types of mafia operating in and around the city. Lex introduces her to Dot Campbell, a Jamaican, who she cannot decide whether she is male or female. She also talks with Sue Marshall, the leader of a "country" mafia. Finley has a hard time trusting anyone. She is being chased by a man who is trying to kill her. This story is so captivating, you cannot put the book down. Larissa has wound this tale around so much you keep guessing who is what. This book has themes of trust, faith, redemption and love. I highly recommend this book and hope there are more with these characters.

Larissa Reinhart is one of my favorite authors. Finley Goodhart is not one of my favorite characters. The story was interesting, humorous, clever, and intriguing. I do not like con artists. The only one I liked even a little bit was Harry Anderson (RIP). I did enjoy the movie The Sting, but with Robert Redford and Paul Newman, who wouldn't. I received an advance reader copy of this book for my voluntary review.

DYNAMIC & COMPELLING! The Cupid Caper (A Finley Goodhart Crime Caper #1) is dynamic and compelling! The author has created a wonderful new series that will grab you from page 1 and keep you completely engaged until the last sentence. The characters are complex but realistic. The plot is sophisticated and enticing. The author’s vivid descriptions make you feel as though you are a participant and not just a reader. There are three major themes in the book: trust, faith and redemption. The art of the long con, the sting, the grift, the mafia, dirty money, hit men, murder and mayhem and a little romance will provide you with plenty of dynamic and compelling entertainment!

The Cupid Caper the first book A Finley Goodhart Crime Caper Series. Hopefully there will be many more. This was a very quick read, it had romance, humor, plenty of twists and turns. I did not want to put the book down. This book was very complex and in places hard to follow. I had fun reading this book. All in all this was a wonderful can’t put down book. I can’t wait for the second book in this series to see where it will lead us. I received a book from the author to review and give my honest opinion.
