Overview

The Cydronium Chronicles is an intriguing tale of scientific experiments gone wrong. The main characters are four young aspiring rock musicians. The story involves a chemical known as Cydronium, with which the government is experimenting; it takes place across a timespan that begins in 1981 and concludes around the turn of the millennium. It involves precognition through chemically induced dream-states, which result when the characters are accidentally exposed to these chemicals. The plot then follows their lives and activities throughout the two-decade period. A parallel plot follows the ongoing tests performed by a fictitious agency, which I have created to add spice to this story. The story touches on such subjects as rock music, politics, gun control, drug abuse, religious cults, fears and phobias, crime and clandestine government-sanctioned experimentation in some highly strange fields. And of course dreams, a recurring theme through the course of this story. The material is serious and somber, in the event that these things could quite possibly happen; thought there are some spots where the story is actually quite humorous. It is not a tale of the supernatural, although at times it may seem to be, but rather a detailed account of what can happen when the human mind is tampered with. The experiments conducted and the persons conducting them have all sprung from the author’s imagination and, hopefully, that is where they shall remain.

About the Author

Larry S. Gray is a student of life who loves to tell a good tale. Born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey, he now resides on the central east coast of Florida, with his family. He is an avid reader who enjoys rock music, baseball, beaching and exploring. His material is interesting, compelling, thought-provoking and, at times, just downright weird. His subject material includes mind-control and religion, time travel and ghosts, with a little humor sprinkled in for good measure. He is hard at work on several new projects, yet more interesting tales that will keep you up late into the night and disturbed well into the morning."The Cydronium Chronicles" concerns failed experiments in the field of mind control, with a bit of humor tucked in amid the mayhem. "Spirit of Sussex" is an old English ghost story, plain and simple. "The Armageddon Project" is a non-fiction work co-written with his cousin; a haunting and harrowing tale of childhoods spent in the grip of a tightly controlled religious organization. The old phrase "truth is stranger than fiction" certainly applies here. "Timespan - the Vet" is an eerie account of time travel seen from a different angle and puts forth the hypothesis that time can actually be flexible, a mental concept of startling proportions. "The Secret of Meat" was written for young minds; a tale of exploration and discovery. A young rabbit and a young mouse set out on an unsanctioned journey to a city of humans, where they discover a ghastly secret that shatters the illusion of their happy little world. In the upcoming projects, we have the darkly humorous "Palm Castle," which will be available to readers in 2014. The insanely haunting "Parallel Worlds, Perpendicular Dreams" is due in 2015. And the extensive epic apocalyptic thriller "And in the End - 2034" will be ready for readers in 2017.
