When you read Paranormal for years the stories start to look and sound the same. You will not find the same ole tired story here! I really enjoyed this story and am excited to read the next book in this series. I don't do spoilers...but this book kept me interested. Ok ok...I will say that I loved the way Ethan handled Genesis' hateful mom! Want to know more like...Who will Genesis chose? Read the book. HAPPY READING EVERYONE!!

I'm a huge fan of her Seaside series and I wanted to try something new from. This does not disappoint. Could not put it down, I can't wait to read what happens next.

So I am not a huge PNR reader, but I do love me some vampires. The Dark Ones was a nice change from what I am use to reading from Rachel Van Dyken. Seriously, this has it all....Vampires, Werewolves, Archangel, Sirens and Dark Ones...OH MY!! What would you do if everything you have been told was a lie? The Dark Ones book one in the Dark Ones Saga follows Genesis, a human. She pretty much has been told her life that she is pathetic, that her calling is to teach and serve the immortals of the world. When she is called she must go, no matter what. And that has lead her to Ethan, a Vampire. Ethan is an elder in the immortal world. While Ethan is attracted to Genesis, he knows he can't thrust her into his life because of his past, but he must mark her as his...Why? To protect her from the Dark One. He wants her for himself, and that my friends is not a good thing at all. Will Ethan be able to protect Genesis? Will he mate with her or will his past come back to haunt him? Will Genesis be able to see her true beauty and move past her insecurities? The Dark Ones is told in dual POV. It is full of action and suspense...trust me you will be on the edge. I love the passion that the characters are bringing. You easily end up invested in the story and characters. I am trying not to divulge a lot because it is a must read for everyone. The secondary characters play a big role in the storyline. Each one has their own story and I am excited to learn more about them. As you read more and more into the story, I love how we don't get to know everything, that you end up with questions. Little details are revealed and leave you wondering what is next. RVD weaves a magical story that you will fall in love with. This story has the right amount of sexiness and steam I was looking for. If you want an exciting, fast paced, hella good read this is definitely for you. I can't wait to dive into the rest of the books!

I read the book cover to cover in on evening. The flow was great and sucked me right in until the end. The character banter is something I always enjoy and if a book makes me laugh out loud it’s an automatic 5 star. Will be looking into other books from this author.

I loved this book! Great way to start a series, although I have to admit I'm left a little confused on should go say the world it takes place, or maybe I needed a little more explanation of the "number system". I feel that needed better explaining or maybe this was a spin off on another series. Other than that it was a great quick read and really funny. Can't wait to see where the next story takes me

When I first started reading this book I wasn't sure if I would like it and was tempted to put it aside but as I continued it caught my interest again and I'm glad I did finish it. I only have it a 4 star review because it started out a bit weird to me otherwise it was a good story.

An excellent, wildly unique and engrossing paranormal tale! I freaking loved it! Random book stats Setting: Seattle, the year 2015 POV: Dual Genesis: a 25-year old human Ethan: a vampire Mason: a werewolf Alex & Stephanie: both sirens Cassius: a Dark One Sariel & Aziel: Archangels I've been collecting other novels by this author for almost a year, but I hadn't read a single one until now. I'm so thrilled that this was the one I chose to read first. I read it in one sitting, something that is rare for me. I loved all the mythology, the emotional tension, the passion, the humor, the prophecy and the twists. And that epilogue nicely set up the sequel. I’m totally hooked. Luckily, Untouchable Darkness (The Dark Ones Saga, #2) is already available. I now have new reading plans for next weekend.

Loved it! Genius's fate was Ethan no matter what Cassius tried to do to interfere. And Mason was such a sweet Werewolf. Alex was a strange siren and Stephanie was a lie in siren clothing. A must read! You will love it. I could not put it down.
