Watch out world — I'm ready to date again.

The seven years I invested in my ex left me with nothing but scorch marks from the way he peeled out and left me at the altar. I'm not looking to put my heart into a relationship any time soon. But getting back out there? That sounds like a helluva good idea to get my groove back.

Then I bump into Chris....Clever and funny, with a sexy surfer's bod and a brilliant nerd brain, he has just the right screwdriver to fix my hard drive. (Yes, the one for my computer.) I wouldn't mind dating him. The trouble is he just proposed to me—to be the new dating guru on his TV show.

Now he's my new business partner.

What happens when you meet the right person at the wrong time?

Note: Back in the day, I wrote a book called TROPHY HUSBAND, and though it's no longer available for sale, the characters of Chris and McKenna seemed to demand another chance in the spotlight. THE DATING PROPOSAL is a complete reimagining of their romance, with 85 percent brand-new material, a fresh plot, and vastly expanded characterizations so you can come to know and love Chris and McKenna like I do. Enjoy!

The Dating Proposal is Lauren's Blakely's newest sweet, fun, sexy, and exciting romance. I feel like I can't say enough about what a fabulous woman and writer Lauren is. Every time I pick up one of her books it becomes my favorite. The hero my new Blakely boy. The leading lady my wishful new best friend. McKenna is over her ex and ready to get back out there. She's smart, funny, talented and looking to have some fun. She has a few good prospects and then she meets Chris. Sexy, surfer, smart, geeky Chris. Sigh. He's perfect. They just click and their chemistry is off the charts. Then he makes her an offer she can't refuse. Come on his show and answer dating questions from his viewers. She can't say no. This is the perfect thing for her career. But dating Chris can't happen if they work together. Right? Even if they are magic on-screen and scorching hot off. Well, there's always a way. Chris has been there before and it didn't work out. But can he just say no to dating the greatest woman he's ever met? What happens when they throw caution to the wind and give into their desire for each other? Everything! I can't even express how much I loved this story! Chris is my #1BlakelyHero. His smile. The hair. His intelligence. The surfing. Oh Lord, the man is pure perfection. I want to be McKenna when I grow up. Her style is flawless, her personality awesome. She's a good sister, the greatest friend and the answer to everything Chris has ever wanted. And there's a Kara, so that got me overly excited!! :) Overall, it's one of my favorite stories of Lauren's and I'm still thinking about Chris and McKenna weeks later! Mostly Chris ;).

The Dating Proposal is suuuuper cute. I want to read it again, like asap. Fun, low angst and with phenomenal character chemistry, this book is classic Lauren Blakely. It left me with the biggest smile long after reading. You always win me over with the dialogue and boy was I addicted to the banter in this book. So good. So witty and playful. Lauren Blakely is forever my banter queen. Chris and Mckenna's back and forth was effortless and natural. They were also refreshingly honest with each other which is something I greatly appreciate. I couldn't get enough of their connection. The Dating Proposal is a reimagining of one of Lauren's previous books called Trophy Husband. While I loved this couple then, I enjoyed Chris and McKenna 2.0 even more. Get ready to smile because this is one of those heart happy stories.

I never had the pleasure of reading Trophy Husband when it first came out, but I can't imagine anything different for Chris and McKenna. These two characters are perfect, and their quirky love story is sublime. I fell in love with our hero instantly. Chris is so perfectly...normal. And that's a good thing. He's not flashy, overly alpha, or an unobtainable bazillionaire. He's your quirky, sexy, everyday surfer next door who loves video games and loves to make you laugh. He's humble and kind, and just as lost in the dating world as most people. And all that charm and charisma is wrapped up in a gorgeous, sexy package. McKenna is fantastic. One of her friends likes to describe her as sweet and fierce, and I couldn't agree with that description more. She's quirky and funny, but she has that edge to her that balances everything out. She has a fun and outgoing personality, but she's just as lost as Chris is. Everything flows so easily between these two characters. Their light-hearted banter and flirty conversations keep you intrigued and the white-hot chemistry between them sucks you into the story and doesn't let go. It's a wonderful well-rounded story, and a perfect example of what Lauren Blakely is all about. I highly recommend this book.

A year after having her heart broke McKenna realizes that it's time to start dating again. In her dating adventures she meets Chris and the two have chemistry from the start. However the two and their trust issues will make an interesting start to a relationship. This book was everything you would expect from a Lauren Blakely book, great characters, a sweet romance and a HEA. This book was a quick and enjoyable read.

Chris and McKenna's story pulled me in from the start. In true Lauren Blakely style this story features a strong woman who knows what she wants in a man and refuses to settle for less. The man of course is willing to prove he is worthy. In the case of McKenna she is ready to start dating again after a year of shutting herself off when her ex fiance left her right before the wedding. Chris has set his own rules when it comes to dating, do not date someone you work with. The two meet and feel they can be friends and work together without crossing that line. Chris says his work comes first and McKenna is not ready to start a relationship. what soon happens is that as they grow closer as friends they both realize the attraction to one another and the connection they have is also growing. This is a well written book and the chemistry between the two is great. Each are willing to trust one another and allow themselves to be vulnerable while letting love back into their lives. I absolutely loved this story and the wonderful HEA!!! I look forward to more books from Ms Blakely. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I can’t tell a lie. I freaking loved this book… and what about that gorgeous cover, huh?? Chris and McKenna were just so great as well. Fabulous chemistry, sexy banter, a kinda slow burner and just… all the sweet and sexy feels, that Lauren supplies with aplomb. The story was filled with red hot lines of innuendo, deep feelings and nerdy love. No commitment or strings attached was all they were meant to be, but things never go to plan. There’s a host of secondary characters making for some interesting interactions and hilarious dialogue. Grab your copy today and get ready to swoon over it too.

Loved The Dating Proposal! Ive read Trophy Husband and even though I could see the similarities between the two novels. The Dating proposal was its own book. I loved the connection between Chris and McKenna. also couldn't get enough of their witty conversations ! received an advanced copy for an honest review.

I received an ARC of this wonderful book in exchange for an honest review. The Dating Proposal was everything I hoped it would be and much more. Surfer geek, hot fashion blogger, music (oldies), Dr. Seuss, Q-Bert, Ms. Pacman, retro video games, holding a screwdriver for ransom, hardrives, orgasmic ketchup, first sip of Diet Coke, and karaoke. This book had it ALL!! McKenna and Chris were so much fun together. Meeting by chance, McKenna and Chris immediately hit it off forming a playful friendship. From that very first moment, they fell in into something natural that was much more than friendship. It was as if their souls immediately connected. Their conversations were honest, fun, and flirtatious. They found they had some things in common, such as their love for retro games and music. Unfortunately, another thing they had in common is that they both had trust issues. Both having had "bad luck" in past relationships and neither was looking to get involved in a serious relationship. I absolutely love McKenna. Despite having been left by her fiancé right before her wedding, McKenna had a positive outlook in life. She didn't dwell over the breakup. She picked herself back up, held her head up high, and move forward. This book was lighthearted with amazing relatable character making you wish Chris and McKenna were your BFF's. It is about taking a chance at love with someone who accepts and loves you for who you truly are. Chris and McKenna's relationship reminded me a little of the relationship between Finn and Kyler of Unzipped as both were relationships that began by a chance encounter, turned into friendship, which turned into love. Lauren Blakely is a a pre-order/one-click/must-own-in-all-formats author for me. SHE IS QUEEN OF ROM-COMS.

The Dating Proposal was a great and wonderful read, with a wonderful rapport and chemistry between McKenna and Chris. I enjoyed The Trophy Husband and this a great revision/update with both Chris and McKennas POV. I love a book that makes me smile and laugh and there was plenty of that. 5 stars for me and this will be added to my list of books to reread. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book

The Dating Proposal was fantastic !! If you’re a Lauren Blakely fan, then I’m sure you’ve probably read the Trophy Husband, which was amazing as it was, but fast forward to the revamped and renamed book, The Dating Proposal, is even better. We get both McKenna and Chris’ POV’s. This book will make you feel good! After being left at the altar, McKenna never expected she’d open herself up to love again. Her fashion blog is her outlet and she decides to pair her blog with dating to help get herself out there again. In comes Chris who turns out to be her perfect match. After fixing her hard drive, they realize how much they have in common. So much so that they end up working together. Their shared love of video games and orgasmic Katsup make them fall for each other. However, they both have trust issues that keep getting in the way. You’re going to love watching this relationship grow! Prepare yourself for lots of laughter, love and friendship!

ARC received for an honest review. This book sucked you in and kept you wanting for more. McKenna and Chris were fast friends. Both came with baggage from previous relationships that made future relationships a little more difficult. McKenna had a few dates that turned out horribly. What I liked about these experiences with the dates is they were relatable, with situations that were fathomable. The love story that happens is natural between two people that you can believe would fall for each other. Lauren hits another book out of the park.

I absolutely love this book! It is such a super cute, super sweet and super sexy story!! Chris & McKenna are just so stinkin’ adorable together!!! I love both of their characters so much! They have amazing chemistry and some of the sweetest and wittiest banter I've heard in a long time. I totally wanted to hang out with them! Lauren Blakely continues to be on top of her game with this delightful RomCom!! She just has this wonderful way of making you fall head over heels for her heroes and heroines while she tells such a great story. I am still smiling!!!!

5 stars I purchased a copy of the novel by Lauren Blakely and this review was given freely. A fun and flirty steamy romance with wonderful characters, steamy innuendos and off color humor blended with a gaming and Web theme. McKenna and Chris story is a revamp/ fresh approach of the characters in Trophy Husband. Spurred on by a chance meeting with her ex Todd and his new wife Amber one year after her almost wedding,The Fashion Hound blogger McKenna develops a ratings booster by combining her reemergence to dating with a focus on fashion. Her plan is helped along by chance encounters with the recently divorced Steven Crane owner of Madcap, WebFlix's Geeking Out host and computer genius Chris and with the help of her friends.

The Dating Proposal by Lauren Blakely is a standalone contemporary romance novel. Meet McKenna, she's fresh out of a relationship and has sworn off on relationships. Just at this time Chris shows up and has a proposal she can't say no to. He's the perfect type, nerdy with a brilliant mind and a body to salivating over. And he hires her as dating expert for his tv show. Sarcasm here I come. The Dating Proposal is an ok read for me. I love the author's writing, I really truly do, but I couldn't for the life of me connect with the characters. The Dating Proposal was formerly published as Trophy Husband, is rewritten, edited and with added material.

Lauren Blakely novels just make me happy and The Dating Proposal does that and more. The original version of the story was one of the first books of Ms Blakely's I read so revisiting this updated version was a lot of fun. McKenna Bella needs help - her best friends demon spawn cat dropped her laptop and now the hard drive is dead. Being a fashion blogger/influencer her computer is her life so when she takes it to the computer repair store and runs into the sexy Chris - who is way too sexy and smart for his own good McKenna knows she needs to keep him in the friend zone. When he reaches out to her though for help on his show to make it more appealing to the opposite sex McKenna knows the more time she spends with Chris the hard it is to keep him at arm's length. Getting out of a relationship McKenna feels ready to go out and see what's out there the problem is that she ends up comparing the guys she dates to Chris, the one guy she can't have. The Dating Proposal is charming, funny, with witty dialog and great characters. It's classic Lauren Blakely rom com that is worth the reread or first read.

The Dating Proposal by Lauren Blakely is a re-imagining of on of her earlier books, Trophy Husband. Let me say off that this book was a lot of fun, a romantic comedy novel, with large doses of both the romance and the comedy. McKenna was ditched by her fiance, a year ago, and she is ready to move on and get "back out there". When she meets Chris in a video game store there is a connection. The only problem? Chris wants her to be on his show. That makes anything other than a business arrangement... complicated. The comedy aspect of this book was very high and sometimes it was a "hate to laugh" moment as things don't work out. In the end though the romance aspects of the story won me over and the connection between these two characters (now with 2 completely different books to their names) was undeniable and unstoppable. I very much enjoyed what Ms. Blakely created here and had a lot of fun reading it. The Dating Proposal by Lauren Blakely is a book I very much recommend and devoured. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance review copy of this book I received for free in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)

Mckenna, the heroine here, had me at hello, folks. I loved her funny, sassy, quirky wit and resolve not to go down with the ship known as heartache. She embraced the good things in her life, like the posse of awesome friends and family who always had her back, and the perfect for her fashionista video blogger career. She set a good example for the sisterhood, folks. Though she considered herself to be in a drought regarding dating experience, I couldn’t help but feel it was raining men all around her. So much so, I had to reread the synopsis to remind myself which guy would be her love interest. Make no mistake though, Chris, the hero, reigned supreme here and was the only person she goes on repeated dates with. They always have a great time together no matter where or what they are doing. You feel their genuine connection as a couple. Chris has previously been burned by a woman scorned, and he’s determined to avoid that delimina again. This means hands and lips off any co-workers. It’s just his luck that Mckenna seems to be perfect for him. You can’t fight fate though, so this book is basically their flirty, very steamy at times, romantic journey to a HEA. As usual, Lauren Blakely’s unique writing style flows across the pages and keeps me fully engaged. She’s proven once again why she’s at the top of my favorite romance authors list. Title: The Dating Proposal, Author: Lauren Blakely, Pages: 304, stand-alone, funny.sassy, fashionista blogger heroine, gorgeous tech geek hero, not a manho, some very steamy scenes, no OW drama, no love triangle, no cheating, goes on a few dates with OW before dating the hero, HEA. (I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was not given any payment or compensation for this review, nor is there any affiliation or relationship between this reviewer and the author/publisher/PR firm.)

Such a fun, romantic story! Chris and McKenna are wonderful characters whose romance will leave you gasping for breath and cheering them on every step of the way. The writing just flows throughout, drawing the reader in as if they were your two best friends. It's a terrific story with a lot of heart, and one I know I'll reread again and again. I can always count on Lauren Blakely to deliver fun, flirty, unique stories. The Dating Proposal is a new and expanded revamp of her 2013 book Trophy Husband, which I had not had the opportunity to read. Per the author, it's 85% new material, and per me, it's fantastic! I loved how quirky both McKenna and Chris were in their own ways. Blakely's heroines are always girls you instantly want to be friends with, and her heroes always make me swoon. Together, her couples always have witty conversations and smokin' hot chemistry, and the side characters are always enjoyable too. As always, I finished the book with a smile on my face and excited for her next story.

THE DATING PROPOSAL by Lauren Blakely is a contemporary, adult, stand alone, erotic romance story line focusing on podcaster and app developer Chris McCormick, and fashion blogger McKenna Bell. NOTE: THE DATING PROPOSAL was originally released as Trophy Husband in 2013 but the author has re-written and reimagined the tale of Chris and McKenna. Told from dual first person points of view (Chris and McKenna) THE DATING PROPOSAL follows fashion blogger McKenna Bell, one year after her ex-fiancé dumped her the day before their wedding. In the ensuing time, our heroine has focused on her blog, never considering reentering the world of dating or love. When her friend’s cat knocks over her hard drive, our heroine will come face to face with her future. Enter Chris McCormick, the man with whom McKenna will fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Chris and McKenna, and the potential fall-out as McKenna’s issues of trust come to the forefront when her relationship with Chris ventures into serious territory. Chris McCormick doesn’t do work-place relationships but watching McKenna Bell’s hilarious videos gave Chris an idea for his own struggling show. From friendship to lovers, Chris is willing to take the step from fun to something more, but it is the something more that frightens McKenna into remembering what was, and what may be. The relationship between Chris and McKenna is one of immediate attraction: their sassy back and forth conversations are flirty and fun; it is only a matter of time before the heart succumbs to love and a happily ever after. The $ex scenes are passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. The secondary and supporting characters are an eclectic mix of family and friends, cats and dogs, and exes with their new found mates. We are introduced to Chris’s best friend Cooper, and his boss Bruce; McKenna’s sister Julia; friends Andy, Hayden and her daughter Erin. THE DATING PROPOSAL is a sexy and energetic story of romance and love. The premise is entertaining and seductive; the characters are lively and fun; the romance is captivating and desirous.

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review** Lauren Blakely never fails to provide us with an entertaining RomCom and The Dating Proposal was no different! McKenna Bell, a fashion blogger, has been out of the dating game since her last relationship ended a year ago and she's decided it is time to get back into the game. Her friends are trying to help set her up, but so far she hasn't had luck with any of the suitors. When she ends up crossing paths with Chris at the video game store, sparks fly for the first time in a very long time for her. Chris, who hosts a TV show, finds McKenna as attractive as she finds him and he comes up with a great plan that will not only benefit them both professionally, but it might benefit them personally too. Chris thinks that McKenna should come on his show and answer questions about dating for the people who send in said questions. She agrees and not only is it a hit, but it's clear to everyone watching that things are happening between the co-hosts as well. With trust issues abounding for both of them, they decide to date, but to take it very slowly. They communicate like adults should and they make it known what they can handle out of a relationship at that time. Will they be able to get past their hang-ups from past relationships to make this one work? I enjoyed this story very much and enjoyed going along for the journey to their happily ever after!

You may have seen that this book is a re write of an older book from Ms Blakely. I didn’t read the first version, so I went into this one with open eyes. Rom-coms are my bailiwick, and this author is the queen of them. This one has some great funny lines but it is also a sweet contemporary romance love story. It’s a tale of two smart San Franciscans who are proud of their geekiness, and you could say they wear the tittle with honor. I have to confess, I am a geek too. Not in the gaming way, but I love reading books, and following the action on google maps to get a better feel of what is happening. I relished in seeing all the spots they visited pop up on the map! It made me reminisce my times in San Fran. And a certain Mr in my house has the same geeky list of concert / gig counts. I have never felt more at home reading a book! Both McKenna and Chris have had their fair share of being burnt in previous relationships so neither were looking for a partner in any way, shape or form. But you can’t defy chemistry and what is in front of your eyes. The way these two slowly connect and figure things out is charming and winsome. I reveled in the old time songs, and couldn’t help but sing them in my head. But what I got a big kick out of was the way LB had interwoven characters from other books into this one, either in a cameo or name dropping. It had me looking up those books and marking them on my TBR.

This jumped between 4 and 4.5 stars while I was reading. I had a complete déjà vu moment at the beginning of the book because the scene was so similar to another book I’ve read. It turns out The Dating Proposal is a re-imagining of the romance between Chris and McKenna, the two characters from Lauren Blakely’s book Trophy Husband. I was a little concerned when the first scene at the diner felt so familiar, but besides that scene and the characters themselves The Dating Proposal is a completely different book. I actually liked this story so much more than Trophy Husband, the characters were great in both but the story line for The Dating Proposal was so much more relatable! McKenna is a fashion blogger who was dumped a day before her wedding a year ago. While it had taken her some time to get over the betrayal and heartbreak, she is living her best life with a job she loves and a great group of friends. After a run in with her ex and his new wife she realizes that she is completely over him and the universe helped her out by having an attractive man ask her out on a date right afterwards. With her revelation, she decides to jump into the dating world full force and post about it on her blog. McKenna is a great lead female, she is sassy and feisty with a great support system of friends. With her attitude, cupcake addiction and love of all things 80’s I would be willing to overlook her fashion obsession and become best friends with her myself! Chris on the other hand is an absolutely perfect book boyfriend! He is a hot nerd who is successful, surfs, charismatic and a mister fix it… does it really get any better than that! Chris and McKenna have a chance meeting because a hateful cat breaks McKenna’s hard drive. The two instantly hit it off but fight the attraction because they both have some major trust issues. This is a purely fun romantic comedy with some steam thrown in! I love some angst and darkness in my romance, but everything now and then you just need something light and fun that makes you walk away feeling happy and The Dating Proposal is definitely that book!

I loved this new and fresh, re-imagining of McKenna and Chris's romance! I read Trophy Husband when it was released and loved both characters then. But this is a whole new wonderful story with the perfect blend of sass, wit, and steam. McKenna is ready to explore the dating world after recovering from a devastating breakup. She is strong, funny, and relatable. She has a confidence and spring in her step that draws people in. When she has a 'cat'astrophy, she meets Chris, a sexy surfer geek who helps her out. They are wildly attracted to each other, but aren't looking for attachments. They forge a working relationship that makes their desires forbidden. But while McKenna continues to date, Chris begins to rethink all his rules. I really love Chris and McKenna, they are so perfect for each other and completely adorkable. I love their fun banter, the fun they have together, and their fiery passion that's off the charts. Ms. Blakely expertly creates genuine, authentic characters in her smart, funny and heartfelt stories. This book is another brilliant, clever, sexy romance that totally satisfies!
