Randall Garrett (1927-1987) was an American science fiction and fantasy author. His books are known for being rich in jokes and puns, often set in alternate worlds and different planets. Garrett wrote under a variety of pseudonyms. He was a contributor to Astounding and other science fiction magazines of the 1950s and 1960s, and he was also a founding member of the Society for Creative Anachronism.
