Annabelle wakes up one day and can’t stop herself from drawing “oodles of doodles”. What’s wrong with her? This cute book is dedicated to the real Annabelle, the author’s granddaughter. The rhyming text is reminiscent of Dr. Seuss, and Annabelle even wears a hat like the one worn by the Cat in the Hat. However, this story is set squarely in modern times with a reference to a tablet. The colorful illustrations by Jaime Buckley complement the text perfectly. Parents will enjoy reading this book aloud to their children. I received this book in return for an honest review. One day Annabelle got the urge to start doodling and couldn’t stop. She was drawing all kind of things all over the place. She was so affected that she couldn’t stop doodling and her parents started to get worried. They take Belle to the doctor who discovers that Belle has been bitten by a doodlebug. There is nothing they can do but let it run its course. So they set up a shop and start selling Belle’s creations which takes her on a trip to the queen. This is a great story for kids with beautiful illustrations. Belle is a great kid who just happens to be in a doodling phase. I love how she was scribbling on everything, even getting in trouble for writing on the walls. But they find a creative outlet and everything works out. This is a great story for anyone that has been bitten by the doodlebug. This is a wonderful read for anyone that has little ones. I think this will be a great addition to any little ones book shelves. I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.

Laila and I laughed and had a great time with this read, here is what she had to say: I like Maise’s hair. I like that the bug bite went away. I like her doodles, they were pretty and silly. I really like the unicorn one. I like the rhymes and the silly questions. I like the mom and dad they were funny. I personally love all of the things Annabelle achieved with all of her doodles. The author showed so many possibilities!! It was a great read that stretches their imagination and I LOVE Annabelle!! Great read with wonderful artwork. It kept my 5 yr old grand involved and actively participating which in itself is amazing.
