About the Author

Do you like your crime thrillers to have a forensic element that adds to the realism? Do you like your lead character to be someone intense and unafraid to take on authority?
Andrew writes precisely that kind of crime thriller, and has done since 1996, about the same time he became a CSI in Yorkshire.
He doesn't write formulaic fiction; each story is hand-crafted to give you a unique flavour of what CSIs encounter in real life - and as a practising CSI, he should know what it's like out there. His thrillers live inside the police domain, but predominantly feature CSIs (or SOCOs as they used to known).
Here's your chance to walk alongside SOCO Roger Conniston and CSI Eddie Collins as they do battle with the criminals that you lock your doors to keep out, fighting those whose crimes make you shudder.
This is as real as it gets without getting your hands bloody.

I have read all of the Eddie Collins stories whether short stories or full novels. I thought Eddie had lightened up a little in this latest novel. Still not suffering fools gladly but not as grumpy. Loved his interaction with his father and his colleagues and also his efforts to date the office receptionist. Jessica Ripley has just come out of prison after 12 years for a crime she didn't commit and wants to make contact with her son who was two when she was sent to jail. Unfortunately for Jessica her son rejects her which only compounds her feeling the need for revenge. The writing was, as always, superb and moved along at a good pace. The characters were rounded and some I liked, others not, which in my mind is just as it should be. I really like finding new authors that I enjoy reading and this has been the case with these SOCO/CSI stories. This one was a great story, gritty in places, and felt very true to life.

Gritty, gripping, suspenseful and twists to keep you gripped to the thrilling end. We have our wonderful lead the grumpy Eddie whom I love along with our wronged character Jessica. The characters are wonderfully created and developed. So relatable and realistic. The plot is so very well written with supriese and twists that just grabs you from the very start and doesn't let go. Highly recommend reading!!! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. I also purchased my own copy as well as I love the books so much.

Another thrilling story of Eddie Collins. Jessica Ripley is sent to prison for 12 years for a murder she did not commit. Her son was taken from her. A number of murders for Eddie and his team to investigate. This novel leads you through a lot of happenings. In typical Eddie Collins fashion the banter and comical retorts along the the investigation into the murders will keep you wanting to read to the end.

The Death of Jessica Ripley is the 5th book in the Eddie Collins series and we are now getting to know more about the man himself and the past events that have shaped his life. Eddie tells it like it is. He doesn’t pull his punches or wrap his words in cotton wool to cushion the blow. His attitude is refreshing in these days of pandering to snowflakes to spare their delicate feelings. That aside, this book has it all; nail-biting suspense, gore, horror, disgust, and inappropriate humour. I won’t spoil it for new readers but expect to be kept on the edge of your seat until the very end.
