Overview

The Debt Collector by Jon Mills

Jack Winchester was a notorious hitman for a ruthless New Jersey crime family until a job went wrong, and he wound up serving time. Four years later, Jack is free and he wants out of the game, but his boss won't let him go. Forced to take on one last job to make amends for what landed him in prison, he travels to the small town of Rockland Cove, Maine. There, he not only discovers that the target and money have disappeared; he finds himself falling for a damaged woman, and befriending an unruly son left behind. Under mounting pressure from his boss and local police-as well as the ghosts of his past-he must unravel the mystery and decide where his loyalties lie...before it's too late.

Very well done the kind of book that you do not want to put down. Good character development Even though it centered around a mobster it avoided the usual tired personalities and plot lines. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.

There are a lot of grammar issues, especially many dangling participles - almost on every page. However, it was a very good story with likeable characters, and it definitely kept my interest. Easy to read in one day.

This is 1 of those 'can't put it down' type of books. U tend 2 find urself identifying w/ the guy in the story, hoping he will, mebbe he will, I want him to be able to... but u just don't know, n, that's why it's hard 2 stop readn this fine story. When I finished(in record time) readin this tale, I just couldn't wait 2 get my hands on another book by this excellent author. So I went n looked 4 everything that this writer wrotered( I know, I know, I'm n idiot). Please do not confuse the fine writing of JON MILLS(this books author) with my imbecilic scribbling here. u need 2 go n read this story, n , then u will c what I also saw, this is a professional at work, telling a dang fine story in an incredible fashion, n keepn u on the edge throughout the entire time that u r with the book. There, I said it(even tho it took me a week 2 do it). go, read this, n enjoy it like I did. from Rick Stanley
