Enter the mind of science fiction hall of fame inductee, E.E."Doc" Smith. Early writer of science fiction and father of the space opera. This collection gathers 10 of Smith's finest works, including the entire Lensmen Series and the famed Skylark series. Boldly go into the mind of what many called "the pioneer of modern day science fiction."

It's wonderful that we have a compilation of the seminal works of E.E. "Doc" Smith. These books are the foundation of modern SF, with galactic size plots, secret plots, larger-than-life heroes and contemptible villains. Who else would conceive of using planets as weapons? However, the execution of this compilation is inadequate and disrespectful to the material. Clearly, the books were scanned and converted using OCR, but also clearly, no one reviewed the quality of the scan. The result is that there are many, many scan errors that interfere with the enjoyment of the books. For example, 'Ah! You are here' becomes 'Ali, you are here.' You have to stop and figure out what the scan error is. This is a horrible way to treat these important works. Editors, please have someone review and fix the errors.
FINALLY!!! The LENSMEN SERIES!!!
The two series that made Doc Smith a Name in the world of Sci/fi. A must read for fans of science fiction.
Whilst having the entire Lensmen series is a good step - dropping "The Vortex Blaster" in favor of Skylark Duquense would have been "da bomb". My goal is to update this some day and make it readable for the 21st century.
This collection is missing the fourth Skylark volume, "Skylark Duquesne".
