I bought this book and then promptly finished it in a few hours. When the story was over I found myself wanting more and more of their story. There were parts where I laughed and parts where I wanted to cry at the despair that the characters were feeling. The characters develop so fully throughout this story that you find yourself transported back to their time. Every time I read a book by Rachel Van Dyken I find myself wanting to live in Regency times. I walked away from this book with a need for more and a want for a love like Lady Katherine's and the Devil Duke.

I loved this book. The dialogue was captivating and drew you into the characters quickly. There were no holes in the storyline and to my utter delight the book was NOT a novella, but as always, I hate to see a Rachel Van Dyken book end! *sigh* This author is my favorite and I can't wait for her next release.

I am a huge fan of Rachel Van Dyken and this new regency romance delivered the same wit, humor, heat and plot I have come to expect from this author. The chemistry was amazing and I want to go back and reread it again. It was that good.

I enjoyed this book very much! I did find myself laughing out loud several times. I am not going to say anything negative about the book but you would enjoy it very much in an afternoon!

A breathtaking fairy tale romance that delivered all the way to the end Benedict Devlyn, Duke of Banbury (known to many as the Devil Duke)has an aunt who's eager to see him wed before she departs for the afterlife, so she cunningly devises a plan that will not only reform her ill-humored, womanizing & gambling rake of a nephew, but put him on a path that will ultimately lead to true love. Lady Katherine is probably the clumsiest woman ever to set foot in London, and though she has known Benedict since childhood, the two haven't seen or spoken to each other in recent years - mostly because he blames her for almost killing him three times, though she insists it happened by accident. But when she awkwardly trips and falls on top of him at the grandest ball of the Christmas holidays, she promptly finds herself compromised and soon thereafter, engaged to the very man she'd like to avoid more than any other(the horror! =)) What follows is a delightful tale of how these two, seemingly mismatched people, who argue at every given opportunity, gradually become aware not only of their attraction for one another, but that they share a bond from their childhood years that cannot be ignored, and that if they give each other a chance, there's an opportunity for a love so powerful that it will be impossible for either of them to walk away. Written with humor (I laughed half way through it), some truly wonderful characters and a fascinating plot, Rachel Van Dyken proves that she is most deserving of being the bestselling author that she is.

Loved the plot and the characters but not the story.... it was slow and confusing at times and the dialogue was hard to follow. Ok read.

Okay, the book is cute and easy to read. There were a few times that I wasn't sure if I was confused by the plot or that I just don't have a grasp on time period pieces, but I enjoyed the banter and while the duke seem to soften quickly, it was fun how it was the heroine's love that did it.

This would have been kind of a cute story, except for the lack of editing/proofreading/format and any plan for a good reading experience for the purchaser of the short story - which would be us - the unsuspecting public. Shame on B&N for allowing this travesty!!

This was a very cute story. Nice clean romance with a couple of laughs. It was kinda short though. I read it very quickly. It seemed to have jumped around quite a bit. All in all it was not that bad of a book.
