Matty Cruz is trying to start over in Couper, Washington, a tree-filled city nestled on the banks of the Columbia River, but that can be difficult when the town she chose happens to have the highest violent-crime rate in the Pacific Northwest.
In the fourth book of the completed Matty Cruz Adventure series, Matty is optimistic that her new life as a young retiree is finally coming together, despite an initial misstep or two. But life is never that simple in Couper. Relationships sour, neighbors become vengeful, people she thought she could count on let her down, and someone even threatens her adorable, little dog.
If that isn't bad enough, a serial killer is loose in the city, and Matty may be exactly his type. Will she be able to sort flawed friend from foe before it's too late?
