Great fantasy series! Wow. A mystery story, wrapped in other-world interest. The main character is so complex--just when you think you have her pegged, you get another surprising look at her character. Unrelated to the world or the characters, I have to say, it's so nice to read a Book 1 in a series that doesn't end with a cliffhanger. The fact that it stands alone actually makes me more interested to pick up book 2.

Developed characters, strong narrative flow. Realistic dialogue. Thrills with heart.

Super fun read. Entertaining and a heroine worthy of Katniss-level worship! An amazing world, smart & sexy characters, surprising twists and turns in the plot, and a thriller mystery.  I love it! I need to go get the 2nd book!

The heroine is intelligent, devious, yet oddly fraught with human frailties. I was drawn in to the plot and sub-plots, until the very end. And will continue with the next book.

This is written in such an intelligent manner that it forces the reader to keep alert and pay attention! I liken the setting to fuedal Japan but in a sci fi land. Excellent characters and storyline. Id like to have seena bit more action as occassionaly the dialogue between the two agents as i call them got a bit long. Going to get book #2! DMB
