The Dirty Boogie

The man who gave the neo-swing scene its anthem with a cover of Louis Prima's "Jump, Jive and Wail" also leads one of the hottest big bands in showbiz, a loose-limbed 17-piece group that moves easily from jazz and jump-blues to old-fashioned rock 'n' roll. Setzer presides over it all with the sweet vocals and precision guitar lines he first mastered back in his days leading the rockabilly trio the Stray Cats. Particularly on limber originals like "Dirty Boogie" and "Let's Live It Up," Setzer's high-energy sound is one of the liveliest pop hybrids today.

I only have 2 big band CD's in my collection, but this is the greatest! Stray Cats were popular in my day, so when I saw this, I had to have it. It was a great investment for my music library. This album is full of energy!

A guy who has brought two genres of music from out of the shadows,I was thrilled when I finally got a hold of Setzer's Dirty Boogie.I've heard the songs without words and enjoyed them immensely. What Brian's done has given them a new spin and refreshen the lives of all the songs on this cd.I hope he gets around to my part of the country.I wouldn't miss it for anything.
