Overview

The Distiller's Darling by Rebecca Norinne, Jamaila Brinkley

Irish whiskey royalty has no place in Northern California, but that isn't going to stop Iain Brennan, the black sheep of Brennan Family Distillers, from giving it a shot. River Hill is an unlikely place to launch a new whiskey empire, but Iain's just reckless enough to make it work. And being out from under the watchful eye of his disapproving father back home in Dublin? Even better.

Naomi Klein has spent the last ten years ignoring her society family as much as possible while building a career as a renowned sculptor. She's settled down in River Hill, but has no interest in dipping her toes into the commitment pool. Just the idea of forever gives her hives. Which makes a rootless Irish wanderer the perfect fling. And shocking her mother? Just a bonus.

But as cozy autumn nights turn into lazy winter mornings, Naomi and Iain realize that they're getting close to something neither of them wants: love. When Naomi discovers Iain's not quite as rootless as he seems, she'll have to make some tough decisions. And when the Brennans and the Kleins descend en masse to collect their prodigal children, River Hill may never be the same.

Very Enjoyable I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I come from a loud Irish family and I could imagine this being my family. Iain and Naomi will capture your heart. I can't wait to go back and read book #1 in this series. This writing duo gives you a book that will leave you unable to put it down.

Naomi comes from a family with lots of expectations. Then again so does Iain But when their fling starts to turn more serious can they make it through? I loved the first book in the River Hill series and this one did not let me down.

Adorable, romantic, and fun! The Distiller's Darling is a passionate, lighthearted tale that takes us back to River Hill and into the lives of the spirited, artistic Naomi who may have finally discovered that one person who inspires her to feel and create, and Iain, the determined, sexy Irishman who may have found himself not only a new career but a new home. The prose is steamy and witty. The characters are charming, independent, and loyal. And the story is an uplifting tale about life, love, familial pressure, friendship, saucy banter, perseverance, community, happiness, sizzling romance, delicious food, and good whiskey.   The Distiller's Darling is an engaging, heartwarming novel with a sweet storyline, amusing characters, and an idyllic setting that highlights that sometimes all you need for the happy ever after you never thought you were looking for is one more night.

This is another great installment in this series. I liked it even better than the first book and was hooked through the whole book. Iain and Naomi are so great together. Iain I loved from the very first page. Naomi took a little more to warm up to but by the end I was a huge fan. I love how the authors give you enough detail to have the background and emotional context you need without unnecessary filler. Great book!

This is Book 2 in the River Hill Series and another slam dunk for the author duet. The book can be read as a standalone but for the back story I highly suggest reading Vintner’s Vixen first for the backstory to all the characters involved. The authors have done an awesome job in gifting us a book/series that is full of fun, laughter, romance and everyday family situations. Distiller’s Darling is Iain and Naomi’s story. These two are both strong willed, independent people that are trying to make their way in the world doing what they love instead of what their families deem they should do. When these two meet the attraction is mutual. Especially when they realize they are kindred spirits in only wanting a one night stand with no strings. But what happens when a few weeks down the road they not only bump into one another, but they find they are going to be in the same facility for the next 3 months! Can two extremely independent people who don’t do relationships of any kind co exist for 3 whole months? The authors will take you on a funny and exciting journey as we follow Iain and Nai’s struggles with their family issues, all while trying to not label anything in their personal lives which have no room for relationships. 2 Thumbs Up for a great book that I highly recommend reading, you won’t regret it.

Norinne and Brinkley are a powerhouse duo. From wine country to whiskey royalty, The Distiller's Darling packs an enduring blend of flavors. Wine and whiskey may not mix, but Iain and Naomi are the perfect combination of sultry and sweet. She brings out his naughty side and he awakens her emotional side. She's always been passionate about her art, her hopes and her dreams, but she has never believe in love. Amidst the secrets and well meaning, yet overbearing parents, these two manage to find something special. Can they make it stick? The Distiller's Darling keeps the subtlety to a minimum, while presenting a flavorful look at love.
