I simply love Wendy S. Marcus. I haven't read a book from her yet that I didn't find to be simply perfect and wonderful. The Doctor She Always Dreamed Of brought humor I wasn’t expecting and characters I couldn’t help but become invested in. Kira Peniglatt and Dr. Derrick Limone meet under unusual circumstances, to say the least. Kira is a Director of Case Management for a home health care company. Derrick is the son of one of her clients and isn’t happy with the care his mother is receiving. In a moment of misguided judgement, Derrick kidnaps Kira and discovers she isn’t the cold-hearted woman he and his family thought her to be. The Doctor She Always Dreamed Of is actually full of humor and heart. Kira is a heroine with many layers who has found herself feeling guilty and in the role of caregiver for her mother. Derrick is the perfect hero who proves that it’s the little things that show just how much you care. Plus, he’s a man who isn’t afraid of women’s clothing. This story shows what family and friendship is all about. Kira’s younger sister Krissy plays a role in this story but she has her own story (The Nurse’s Newborn Gift) which promises to be emotional and heartwarming. **Received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest unbiased review.**

Another enjoyable contemporary romance from Wendy S. Marcus! Marcus is an auto-read for me because she has proven time and time again she will entertain me with a book that will tug at my heart strings with real life issues in real life ways but will always add in some amazing romance and intimacy to keep things light. The Doctor She Always Dreamed Of is no exception. Derrick and Kira are the stars in this story and their relationship all starts with Derrick's mother who recently suffered a stroke. Neither of them ever imagined a relationship would come of Derrick's plans to find Kira to give her a piece of his mind over the lack of care his mother is receiving. Lucky for them both, things turned out differently than expected. Marcus always finds a way to deliver an engaging story with some twists and turns to keep you flipping pages. There were several times in this story I thought the characters would do something completely different than anticipated, which I loved. I road the emotional roller coaster with the ups and downs in the story and really enjoyed the way the medical field is woven into the plot. The intimacy is steamy and the characters are smart and likable. It is a great combination that pulls you into the story from the very beginning. The Doctor She Always Dreamed Of is a quick read and sets up The Nurses Newborn Gift nicely. I can't wait to dive into that one next. If you enjoy medical romance or even if you just enjoy contemporary romance, give The Doctor She Always Dreamed Of a read! *I received an ARC of this story for the purpose of an honest review.*

An amazing story of an incredible woman willing to give up her dreams to provide the care her mother needs. That is until she meets an equally incredible man who understands her and wants her just as she is. Baggage and all. Kira Peniglatt and Derrick Limone are two characters that will grab you by the heart and keep you glued to the pages of this book cheering for their HEA. No two characters have deserved it more. Put this one on the must read list. I highly recommend it.
