When you think about it, anyone wanting to quit a comfortable, well-paid job with a pension and an expense account to go and work for nothing knee deep in something is comical; and Les’s cartoons certainly help us see the funny side of things that smallholders, downshifters and good lifers get into. This book is guaranteed to bring a laugh at the turn of each and every page, as Les’s sharp, inspired drawings and slyly topical captions take a gentle but loving dig at downshifters, townies and rural living and a rather less kind dig at red tape, and politicians.

About the Author
Les Ellis is an escapee from the world of offices and 9 to 5 work. In a moment of temporary sanity he quit that life and, together with his wife, set up a landscaping business. Since his schooldays his real love, however, has been making people laugh with his sharp and humorous cartoons and caricatures, honed and practiced on his unwitting teachers throughout his schooldays. He is now doing this on a regular basis in Home Farmer where his topical cartoons are bringing to faces far and wide. He lives in Hampshire, England.
