Overview

From the author of the USA Today bestselling Stonefire Dragons series comes a new series centering on the dragon-shifters of the Scottish Highlands. Full of humor, alpha personalities, and a new threat, Clan Lochguard is waiting for you...

BOOK ONE
In order to pay for her father's life-saving cancer treatment, Holly Anderson offers herself up as a sacrifice and sells the vial of dragon's blood. In return, she will try to bear a Scottish dragon-shifter a child. While the dragonman assigned to her is kind, Holly can't stop looking at his twin brother. It's going to take everything she has to sleep with her assigned dragonman. If she breaks the sacrifice contract and follows her heart, she'll go to jail and not be able to take care of her father.

Even though he's not ready to settle down, Fraser MacKenzie supports his twin brother's choice to take a female sacrifice to help repopulate the clan. Yet as Fraser gets to know the lass, his dragon starts demanding something he can't have--his brother's sacrifice.

Holly and Fraser fight the pull between them, but one nearly stolen kiss will change everything. Will they risk breaking the law and betraying Fraser's twin? Or, will they find a way out of the sacrifice contract and live their own happily ever after?

This book was a first for me. I have not read any "shifter" books, and was pleasantly surprised. To me, this book had it all, a HEA, a fiesty strong heroine, a hunk of a man who is strong and tender too. Some good sex, and dragons. Oh, and no noticeable typos. Although this book was free, I am willing to pay now to read more in the series. Try this book I do not think you will be disappointed.

I am enjoying this new series of the Scottish Dragon Shifter. This book was well worth the money it costed. It kept me entertained to the point I had to read the whole thing before putting it down.

I love books by this author, she has never left me disappointed! (Except when the book ends and I have to wait to read the next one :) ) Would recommend if you like dragon series and steamy romance scenes ! The character details are phenomenal and the story line keeps you hooked all the way through.

Fraser was funny but his dragon was downright hysterical with his spoiled and domineering personality! Holly turned out to be the best thing to happen to Fraser-especially when she smacks his dragon down in a highly memorable way! I get a kick out of Donovan's Dragon shifter series! The plots have a sight edge of danger/suspense to keep things rolling and her characters are usually feisty heroines and stubborn males who provide endless amusement on the rocky road to love. The books can be read as standalones, but I recommend reading them in order for a richer experience.

189 pages. Not a bad read. I liked the premise, the chars were likable though I would have liked a bit more filling in, more showing, less telling and whining. Still, I don't begrudge the time I spent in the reading of the tale.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!! ***Received the ebook from the author from an honest review The cover is amazing as always :) This is the first in a spin-off series from the Stonefire Dragon series. You can start reading here, but I definitely do NOT recommend it. If you want to understand the world and characters, I highly recommend starting with the Stonefire series because it makes everything amazingly better :) As with the other series, this is for adults only due to the steamy dragon enhanced scenes. This is Fraser’s story (he is one of the twins who are Finn’s cousins and Faye’s sister). I was pulled right into the story and loved that it was a complete story, so no waiting for parts to come out (not that I wouldn’t wait for Jessie’s stories because they always rock!) Holly is a firecracker, and I loved her humor as well as the lesson she teaches Fraser’s dragon (had me rollin’, but I refused to ruin the surprise)! I know I will love this series as much as the Stonefire series, and I can’t wait to see what Jessie cooks up next :) I highly recommend this dragontastic series!!

Great story! It was very well written and kept me interested through the whole thing. I loved reading the full story all together instead of how all of the other dragon-shifter books are done in 4 part serials. I love Fraser with his charming and goofy personality. The only thing I wasn't too keen on was Holly's personality. She seemed quite stuffy, prudish, and negative in my opinion. I honestly kept thinking Fraser was too good for her but that's just me. I'm excited to read Fergus' book next! Given him and Fraser are twins, they have two completely different personalities which will be fun to read about!

Holly Anderson needed money to help her dad with his cancer treatment so she signed up to be a sacrifice at Lochguard for a vial of dragon blood. The money from the sale of the blood would pay for his treatment. I love the twin brothers so when Finn picks one of the brothers to be her dragonman BUT her true mate shows up and changes every thing! Jessie Donovan's books have always been fantastic read for me and this book followed is being fantastic as well. Had me hooked right away and I could not put it down. It gas everything I crave in a book mystery, drama, fun, romance, and dragons! I love the characters and interaction of this clan. They are so well written and FUN. This is a must read for any shifter fan. Book gifted for an honest review and I honestly loved it. ☺

Once again Donovan has created a vivid & vibrant world that invites readers deep inside. She brings her world of dragonmen to live in a big way, not just telling readers about it but inviting them deep into the story. Not only does she bring the land to life, but the culture and customs of her people to life as well. Donovan’s precise writing melds with her fun and inviting tone to take centre stage as she weaves a tale that’s pure gold. The characters in this novel are larger than life. Not only that, but the characters are so well developed. For those who’ve read Donovan’s Stonefire novels, the characters we met there continue to grow. For those who are entering this fantastic world here, the characters come to life in such a way that you can’t help but picture them. I love how intricately the characters’ lives intertwine. Even though the story is focussing on one of the most fun and explosive couples I’ve seen in a long, long while, the way that their lives intersect with the rest of the clan puts their stories into a much larger perspective. This was an extremely vibrant and absolutely unforgettable beginning to Donovan’s new series. I couldn’t put it down for a second. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

The Dragon's Dilemma I loved this book!!! You all must put it on you to read list right away!!! It is one of Jessie Donovan's best yet!!! Add to that this is the complete book, and not in installments and you must pick it up immediately!!!! Holly Anderson is about to become a dragon sacrifice. In exchange for the vial of blood for her father to help with some experimental cancer treatments ( since cancer in one thing dragons blood cannot cure), Holley has agreed to become a dragon sacrifice to the Lochguard Highland Dragon Clan. She will be the first human sacrifice in 15 years to go there. Holly has read all the paperwork, and signed all the forms. Her dragonman's name is Fergus MacKenzie. She will spend a year there mating with him. If she becomes pregnant she will stay until the baby is born. She has a 50/50 chance of making it through the pregnancy alive. Fraser MacKenzie is Fergus MacKenzie's brother. He has never had much control over his dragon's impulses. He hear's his brother's sacrifice is here, and he can't wait to get a look at her. Fraser sneaks over to his cousin Finn's house ( the clan leader ), and tries to peek into the window to get a look at her. He never expects his response to her though - once his dragon see's her it starts acting crazy. All it wants to do is see more of her, and KISS HER??? oh no!!! This cannot not happen!! Not with his brothers sacrifice!!! But the way his dragon is acting - what is she is HIS TRUE MATE?? An amazingly good story you have to read to see what happens with a human sacrifice who is not afraid to stand up to her dragon!!!! I received an ARC for an honest review!!!!

The Dragon's Dilemma is a full length book with no cliffhangers. It's the story of Fraser and Holly's relationship. Holly is the first sacrifice (human female volunteer) since Finn took over as the clan leader. It is a bit of a rocky road because Holly is supposed to be Fergus' sacrifice but his twin brother Fraser sees her and knows she is his true mate but doesn't want to hurt his brother or give up his Casanova lifestyle. It is almost comical how hard the two of them fight to ignore the pull between them. Of course it's inevitable but they keep the reader on tenterhooks with their actions. At the dinner for Holly to be introduced to Fergus all hell breaks loose as Fraser's dragon forces him to claim Holly. George's is furious and goes off on his own, Finn has to find a way to smooth things over with the DDA, and keeping Holly and Fraser apart for awhile is impossible without drugging Fraser's dragon. What a tangle! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am confident you will too.

What a great story. Loving, playful, and the twins are the best. Loved it

The MacKenzie twins are utterly irresistible. They are naughty little boys in sexy dragonmens bodies. The family is lovable and in this one Ms Donovan puts them in conflict. Yep, Fergus is scheduled for the first human sacrifice in over a decade. Now if you haven't read the other stories understand that the sacrifice is an agreement to spend a minimum of six months with a chosen dragonman in hopes of creating a child. The human will have the option of returning to her old life after the six months if no child results or after the birth of the child, unless a mate bode is created with the father. Twin brother Frasier is the first to meet her and and instant attraction from both sides begins a windstorm of trouble. Since Holly is strong, stubborn and thoroughly likable, the twins are irresistible the reader is drawn into the pain of one brother trying to resist the all consuming mate draw to respect his brother and a good woman trying to honor her contract with the other brother to save her father. There is intrigue from old enemies, family angst, political consequences and characters, old and new, we love and want everything to end well for them. This is a romance--it has to end happily--right? Read and find out. This is a page turner you won't want to put down until you finish. A stand a lone novel with a very strong recommend. I received an ARC for an honest review.
